A quick summary of my latest 750.
Husband arrives home to see his wife escorting her lovers from the house.
He gets inside, finds evidence of sexy time and flips out.
Her finds her in the bedroom looking well fucked and after she eggs him on; some hate sex ensues.
Afterward, he asks how long she plans on doing this to him.
She just shrugs and tells him that it was he who opened the marriage.
He claims that he had no intention of doing so, he had simply cheated on her one time.
But to her that was exactly what he had done.

Now I was expecting the torches and pitchforks so I'm quite happy with the responses. In fact, my entire library is getting quite a lot of attention, which for me, is the point of such a story. Knowing the attention it will get. Super low score, and complaints about her a slut and him a cuckold.

My question is this. If I reversed the roles? A woman who had cheated on her husband, and now her husband feels free to fuck whomever, the LW denizens would be cheering for him, no?

For such a premise, a true erotica "scientist" would conduct an experiment, writing just what you suggested and throwing your new meat to the wolves and compare the reactions.

I think you'd get some hate either way but I expect the skew would be different, yes

Here's my suggestion, since you seem brave enough to try these things and you're genuinely curious: Write the story, and see what happens.

You can get all the predictions and advice you want here, and probably more than is useful, but there's nothing like evidence to prove a point.

I agree. But I'm going to do it next year. Because his response would be different from a woman's and I want to think it out well.

As others have said, do it!

I write some of my stories in LW based on testing their reactions. I take the comments and judge the rating accordingly, then write another story with character details to see if I can head off some of those criticisms.

IMO, I think the revised version you post next year with the wife cheating first might do marginally better. But as I said in my PM, you complicated such testing when adding the additional "Black couple" (interracial) trope.

But again, IMO, if you write that story, those who HATE extra-marital sex will still hate it. There seems to be a small margin who are swayed by misogynistic changes of those role reversals.

Did you already remove the story? I was curious to the reactions.

I've been thinking of doing experiments for some time. Reposting a story with nothing more than the roles flipped (and the obligatory edits to write it from a believable perspective of course). Maybe not even the roles flipped. What if they're now two women instead of a woman and a guy? Or what if you flip the premise on it's head, where instead of the nerdy guy becoming a pussy magnet, the pussy magnet has an oopsy and his sex life becomes a barren wasteland?
