[Okay, Isolde and Imoen are playing the parts of Kei and Yuri, the Lovely Angels. The 'sister' thread to this, The Dirty Pair, I'd like to keep for out-of-character comments, suggestions etc.]

2142 AD, and humankind has steadily expanded into space. Now that warp drives are commonplace, more than 3,000 worlds have been terraformed and colonised under the auspices of the United Galactica (UG). Yet crime persists, and the planetary authorities sometimes encounter problems they can't handle. In such circumstances, the UG petitions the Worlds Welfare Work Association (WWWA, or 3WA) for help, which usually comes in the form of specially recruited and trained "Trouble Consultants".

Kei and Yuri - codenamed "The Lovely Angels" - are the best the 3WA have to offer. Unfortunately, while never failing to solve a case, the deadly duo generally manage to level cities, continents and even planets in performance of their duties. Hence their hated nickname, "The Dirty Pair".

The Rian-yu Colony, Security Headquarters

A pair of security officers in the main office are discussing the recent arrivals...

"Hey man, did you see those two babes the 3WA sent us, the Lovely Angels? They're in with the Chief now!"

"Oh yeah, those two are hot! Those tight silver bikinis... oh boy, would I like to debrief those two!"

"Oh, grow up" a female colleague cuts in, "you're drooling on the desks."

"Mmm-hmm, I hear you man," the men carry on, ignoring the comment, "a right pair of bombshells!"

Another guy looks up from his holo-display computer screen.
"Bombshells is right. Did you check the file on the Lovely Angels? I was just pulling it up for the Captain."

"No... why?"

"Got any leave coming up? I'd suggest you take it if you have... those two are the Dirty #$%@ing Pair!"

"The... holy shit!"

* * *

Inside the Chief's office...

"Welcome to Rian-yu Prime City, ladies" said the Head of Rian-yu security, Captain Luren, rising from his seat with a smile as the two agents entered, muffling a cough as his eyes swept briefly over them. "Please, sit, and I'll explain the problem we've been having. I'm glad the 3WA agreed to send us a team, and I hear you're the best -"

A knock on the door interrupted him. "Excuse me, chief, I've got to gome home, forgotten some files I was going over last night" said a security guard, poking his head into the room.

"Okay, Arvis" replied Captain Luren. The door closed again. "Now, about the -"

Another knock on the door. "Sorry to disturb you chief, but Lewis is sick, I've got to go home."

The Captain sighed. "Okay, Xarv. Go look after your daughter," he said, turning back to the two agents. "We seem to have a problem with -"

Yet another knock on the door. "Er, hi chief, sorry. I think I left the holofeed on back at home. I'm just going to go make sure I-"

"What is going on, Kraig?" said the Captain, getting up again from his chair.

"Er, well, like I said sir, I think I-"

"Don't give me any of that bull. What's the deal?"

"Um, I'd rather not say in front of the ladies here..."

"Excuse me for a moment, please ladies" sighed Captain Luren, walking over to the door. "What is it?" he asked, as he stepped outside, closing the door behind him, glancing around at the mostly empty desks.

"Er, those two are the, um, Dirty Pair sir..." Officer Kraig replied in hushed tones, nervously.

"They're the- oh my god. Get Arvis and Xarv back here right now!"

"I can't go home and-"

"No!" the Captain said, sharply, turning back to his office door, mopping the sweat from his forehead before stepping back inside.

"Sorry about that" he said with a forced smile to the two young ladies sat inside. He walked around his desk, and sat back down again, pouring a cup of water from a synthiglass(tm) jug, his hands shaking faintly as he did so.

Yuri

"What's the commotion about, Captain?" Yuri's head tilts inquisitively. "Perhaps something we can help you with?"

"It really isn't necessary to step out to discuss anything around Kei and I. It's fairly difficult to shock or offend either of us." With a sideways glance to Kei, she amends her statement with a grin. "Well, make that me."

She sits back in her chair, her leg draped comfortably over the other - all the while, twirling a small thin silver card idly between her fingers.

"We will need to know exactly what the problem is here on Rian-yu if we are to assist you. There should be no secrets if we are to be successful."

"Are you sure you're alright, Captain?" Yuri asks with a sincere expression of concern warming her eyes. "You appear a bit... stressed."

Kei

Kei's rolled her eyes and crossed her own legs in the same manner as Yuri, crossing her arms against her chest. It didnt take her partner's 156 IQ to know what was happening. Some one somewhere had pulled a file that had listed the reason they had that damn nickname of The Dirty Pair and it had spread like wildfire.

Clearing her own throat, she took a more frontal approach. "Listen, Captain Luren," She said leaning foreward a bit,"If the 3WA didnt think we could do the job they wouldnt have sent us. Just tell us what you need done, we will get it done and then be gone. Dont let a bunch of rumors get in the way of solving your problems."

Throwing a smirk to Yuri, she sat back. Get it out in the open, get it over with and get on with the mission.

Captain Luren settled back in his seat, and coughed, clearing his throat.

"Yes, well, ahem, I'm sure the 3WA Central Computer knows what he's doing" the Captain said, mentally adding or at least I damn well hope so. "We have had a number of bomb threats from a terrorist group, which apparently plans to attack a high-profile conference meeting in Prime City. We're having ambassadors arrive tommorrow from three neighbouring systems coming to discuss certain political issues. Altough we have stepped up security measures, we don't have the manpower or equipment to mount a full-scale investigation into the threat and keep the hotel security to a maximum. Thats where you come in."

Tapping a few buttons on his desktop, a holographic display screen sprung up against one wall.

"This is recent footage we've acquired on the terrorist group, which calls itself the Neo-Yakuza Organisation. They are funded by a variety of criminal activities, from a number of systems. More of a large-scale criminal syndicate than a terrorist organisation, in some regards."

However, he noticed his words were going slightly unheard, as the two 3WA agents were staring at the holographic display.

"Ah, um, this is who we believe to be the Neo-Yakuza co-ordinator for the probable conference threat. She goes by the code-name Fallen Angel, though we've been unable to find out much more than that about-"

"Shasti" Yuri hissed under her breath, looking at the dark-haired attractive woman who was being shown, talking quietly to a couple of rough-looking guys in a darkened corner of some bar. I don't believe it. I thought she was dead after the Lyra incident! Yuri sent to her partner through her internal comlink.

"You know her?"

"That bitch is on Rian-Yu?" Kei growled, looking to the Captain. We'll damn well make sure this time round Kei replied to Yuri.

Captain Luren coughed. "Well, as far as we know, yes, but we've been unable to come up with her specific location, we have marked two business companies which are probable Neo-Yakuza fronts, Sergeant Arvis has been collating the files for you on them."

OOC: it it's cool I'll play Sgt Arvis.

IC: Sgt Arvis member of the local SWAT team: I was pissed that the lovely Angels were here...I had this case almost beaten on my own but the second they arrived my investigation was shut down and that fumed me. My 6'6 260 pound muscle frame was not something to piss off and many crooks found that out the hard way. I truly hated the Neo-Yakuza, besides the fact that they screwed up my city, they also killed my girlfriend and that was a line that I was truly pissed about and I wanted the leaders head for that. I knocked on the chiefs door with the discs in my hand. My ice blue gaze cutting like a laser into anyone that looked at him wrong as he stood there.

Kei

Kei growled low in her throat. It looked like this assignment was going to take on a personal note. And it damn well wouldnt be finished until the glaxey was rid of the...several colorful and descriptive words filtered through her mind and into her comlink. Yuri turned to give her a stern stare.

Sitting back, her eyes narrowed and he jaw clenched, Kei tried to keep her mind on what was being said instead of the fact that she would love to have her hands wrapped around Shasti's neck right at that moment.

Yuri

"Yes. We know her and her techniques very well." Yuri's gaze left the hologram and flicked to Luren, her surprise at Shasti's evident resurrection fading quickly. "You're lucky they sent us, Captain. With the information Sergeant Arvis provides, Kei and I should be able to begin work right away."

"We will review the files and begin work immediately. We won't let you down, Sir - This I guarantee. They will be stopped... at all cost."

At all cost? That's what I'm afraid of thought the Captain. "Very well, Arvis should be in the main office, if Kraig has managed to get him back. Good luck."

To all of us he added, and after the two 3WA trouble-consultants had left, he placed a call to the Rian-Yu Government.

"This is Captain Luren. Run ID check."

"<ID confirmed>" came the computerised response.

"Advise begin evacuation plans, city and planet wide. Priority one" he said.

"Captain Luren? The Neo-Yakuza have only made bomb threats regarding the Conference Centre."

"I'm well aware of that, sir. However, the 3WA agents have arrived. It's the Lovely Angels sir."

"Lovely Angels?"

"You probably know them more by their, um, other name sir. The Dirty Pair."

There was a muffled choking sound at the other end of the line.

Kei

As Kei walked out of the office beside Yuri, her eyes roamed over the building which seemed to be a bit more active than when they had arrived.

"You know, Yuri," She said to her companion,"I sensed a definate lack of trust throughout that meeting with Captain Luren. If I didnt know better I would say that they are more afraid of us than the Neo-Yakuza."

Shaking her head, she added,"You have a small run of bad luck and it marks you for life."

Yuri

"Most just don't get it, Kei. They can't. They don't live this day in day out. Its simple really if they would stop to think about it. We've got a job to do, and we get it done. Sooooo there may be few minor kinks in our system." Yuri's shoulders lifted in a gentle shrug, "Lay people tend to overreact about a city laid to waste. I like to look upon it as a chance for growth! A fresh start, free and clear of the criminals and corruption that mucked it up before. Most just aren't as open minded as you and I, Kei. Mores the pity for it too."

"Up until now, we had a zero re-occurance ratio." A fierce scowl marred Yuri's brow as she growled out the words. "Shasti is fouling up our perfect record and I am personally going to see to it that that is not allowed to happen again."

"Any idea who this Sergeant Arvis guy is?" She questions Kei as her gaze searches over the few remaining people in the rapidly emptying office area.

Kei

"Hey, dont look at me,"Kei said with a small snort,"You're supposed to be the brains of the outfit. Something you keep reminding me of-constantly. I'm just the lady with the big ass ol' guns." A smile came to her face as she talked about her weapons.

Looking back at where the Sargent had gone into the office, her smile turned mischievious. "However, I think that if we tried hard enough we could get all the answers we want."

Sgt. Arvis

I sat down at my desk, staring for a few moments at the picture of my murdered fiancee, reconfirming my oath of vengeance on the Neo-Yakuza in my mind, as I loaded the data up onto an interface socket plug.

The first Neo-Yakuza company fronts was in one of the seedier districts of Prime City, and I had already scouted it out a couple of times, getting to know the place better, for the imminent raid. I just hoped some of the Neo-Yakuza would be left alive to question, now the Dirty Pair were involved in the case.

Outside the Conference Centre

"Hello, you're uplinked to HypernetTM, the United Galatica's number one hyperwave broadcast, instantaneous information network, and I'm Cory Emerson, reporting live from Prime City on the Rian-yu Colony.

Tommorrow, officials from three major star systems about Rian-yu will be arriving to discuss a number of political issues.

However, threats from the Neo-Yakuza, a prominent crime syndicate, have placed the talks in jeopardy. As Rian-yu is a relatively young colony, they requested aid from the Worlds Work and Welfare Association. In response to this plea for aid, the 3WA have sent the Lovely Angels..."

Cory coughed, as she read the holoscript scrolling up past the hypernet broadcast camera.

"...the Lovely Angels to ensure the talks continue without interruption. Here with me is Ambassador Jaeden, from the Rian-yu Senate, to discuss the ramifications of the talks, and its hoped-for benefits..."

Kei

With a wink to Yuri, Kei slauntered over to the desk that Sgt Arvis had just sat down at. Standing at the desk, she lifted her hand and gave a small cough to gain his attention.

When he looked up, she gave him her brightest smile and said,"Hi! The names Kei and I was wondering,"she slid onto his desk, sitting on it with her legs crossed and her hands locked around her knee, letting him get a good look at her figure,"You seem to be up on this issue. What exactly do you know about the Neo-Yakuza movement?"

Sgt. Arvis

I glanced briefly over the attractive red-head, Kei, who sat up on my desk brazenly. Kei, one half of the Dirty Pair. A vertitable tornado in a silver bikini.

Maybe staying in the eye of the storm would be safest. Hell, being out of system would be safest. But that wasn't possible.

"I'm just downloading what I know into this microsoftware plug for you" I said, giving a vague wave to the console on my desk.

"Theres a nightclub in the west part of the city, called the Retro. Plays a lot of pre-2000 music. We strongly suspect its a Neo-Yakuza front.

"Everything from black-lab designer drugs to illegal bioware gets sold in that district, though we haven't managed to make anything stick connecting that to the Retro specifically. We've raided it a couple of times, but they cover themselves pretty quick."

I leaned forward, plucking the plug out of the socket and inserting into my left interface neck socket, checking the download was complete, before handing it to the woman sat casually up on my desk.

The dark-haired one - Yuri, if I remembered right - snatched it out of my hand and poked her tongue out at the red-head. How two bimbo's like these were the 3WA's number one team was beyond me. Maybe the Central Computer was afraid to fire them. Who know's what havoc they'd wreck if they went private.

"This time, though, we've had a possible breakthrough. An informant of mine has given me the low-down on a drop at the Retro, some Neon is trading hands - the Neo-Yakuza's top selling designer drug. I'll - We'll" I corrected, a little reluctantly, "be there to intercept - grab a NY goon or two, and wring some information out of the bastards."

Kei

Taking a moment to stick her own tongue out at Yuri, Kei turned back to Sgt. Avis. "Ohhh, a party. I love partys,"She said as she moved behind him and then, with a lightening fast move, snatched the disk from her companion.

Shooting Yuri a fast glimpse of her silver clad behind, she nimbly darted around to the other side of the desk and waived the disk in her line of sight before tucking it into the straps that....barely...kept her top in place.

"So, when and where do we meet you? I have to go back to the ship and get my baz....some weapons so that we are sure not to be outnumbered." She seemed to pay no mind to the gun strapped along her leg which was, if anyone cared to look, not exactly in the condition that the factory sent it out in. Kei was known to upgrade her own weapons to her liking.

"Kei,"Yuri's voice came to her over their personal link,"Remember what the chief said..."

"Yeah, yeah,"She sent back, as she rolled her eyes,"We leave the planet, people and delegates in one piece. I dont know why he thinks that he has to put that statement into every mission we take on. You make a few mistakes...."

Sgt. Arvis

"I'll meet you there at sundown, thats when they open the doors at the Retro. As for guns... something less conspicuous would be better, this is an undercover op at the moment. We don't want to tip our hand just yet" I said.

"The surveillance files on the interface plug will give you a good idea of the kind of things to wear" I added, but looking at their 'uniforms' I thought that perhaps some of the outfits at the Retro had been pretty low-key.

Kei

Kei's brow wrinkled. "So this isnt a 'come as you are' party, eh?" Shrugging, she added,"Fine by me as long as we get to have some 'fun' and we get rid of 'Miss I Can Kick Your Ass' who then runs away only to pop up and screw with you later."

She looked up to Yuri, who was giving her a stern look and shrugged again. "Hey, I call them as I see them. Speaking of which, lets get back to the ship, look over the info and our armory and get ready for this party."

Giving Sgt Arvis a wink she heads towards the exit, her hips swaying as she walked.

Yuri

Yuri shakes her head at Kei's back, sighing in disgust. "She's so inconsiderate." She mutters under her breath before turning full attention back to the Seargent.

"No worries, Sir! We understand completely! We'll be totally inconspicuous. We will blend right in, the Neo-Yakuzas won't suspect a thing! We'll see you there at sundown." She gifts the Sarge with an excessively bright reassuring smile before turning and taking off after Kei.

The girls make their way back to their ship, the Lovely Angel, with all due haste. Well, that is if you don't count the couple or three scuffles and arguments along the way over the interface plug that contained the necessary info. Par for course for this pair.

"Oh Kei! I know exactly what we can wear!" She rummages deep within the huge closet aboard the ship and pulls forth a mass of dark red and glimmering gold. "AHA! Found it!" She tosses the pile of clothes to Kei as she continues to dig in the closet. With a victorious cry she backs out, a mass of lime green ruffles clutched in her hands. "Yay! Found my favorite dress as well! I can't wait! I haven't gotten to wear this in AGES!"

A few minutes later, okay... okay... two HOURS later the girls are admiring themselves in the mirror. If one overlooks the shoving and accusations of each hogging the mirror- "Quit shoving!" "OUCH! damn it Kei! That was my FOOT!" "Well move over you, mirror hog!" "HUMPH! I am NOT a hog!" "Oink! Oink!" - one can see that they are fairly well pleased with their appearance.

Kei makes quite the attractive figure in her skin tight dark red leather pants. The waistband of them dipping down to a near-scandalous 'v'. Her already volumptous bosom is supported and accented by a bright glimmering gold bustier, cropped directly below her bustline, leaving her lower chest and abdomen competely bare. A matching dark red leather vest completes her outfit.

Yuri looks quite fetching in her dress and is quite happy with the picture her reflection presents. The lime green dress is rather form-fitting and strapless - cut rather deeply exposing quite a bit of healthy cleveage. The extremely short flares at the waist, resembling more-so a overly large ruffle decorated with large sky blue and yellow polka-dots.

"Now all we need are the accessories! I'll leave that all up to you, Kei." Yuri grins slyly to Kei's reflection in the mirror. "Just remember, we have to stick with the inconspicuous theme we've got going here!"

Kei gave a snort. "You just dont think I can do inconspicious. Well, Miss Smarty Pants I have been working on something just for a situation like this."

Exiting the room, she was soon back with a pile of weapons in her hands. Seeing Yuri's disapproving look at the obviousness of the weapons, she held up her hand and said,"Hold on, you havent given it a fair chance yet." Letting the weapontry drop on the bed in an almost careless manner, she dived into the midst of it to bring up a pair of errings that looked suspiciously like two of Yuri's Bloody Cards. Handing them to Yuri with a smug grin, she again dived into the pile to bring up a belt that matched the earrings.

Shortly thereafter, Kei and Yuri were decked out in what appeared to be a fashion show for the well armed. In addition to Yuri's Bloody Card earings and belt, a small blaster hung around her neck and nestled in the V of her bossom in what seemed to be a parody of a necklace. Strapped to her upper arm in a sembalance of a larger armband was what appeared to be the hilt of a sword which it, in fact, was. The hilt however would turn into a full fledged sword with a press of a button. Strapped to Yuri's shapely ankle like an ankle braclet was a small lazer device that could cut through the hardest alloy.

Kei herself wore a silver belt that draped down the V in her pants to dangle what looked like a medium sized blaster but, when she pressed a button, would transform into a rather large bazooka. She wasnt happy about the small size of the weapon but it would have to do. Anything bigger and it would interfere with her walking. Her blaster, which was large by regulation standards and rigged to perform like no other regulation blaster hung on a necklace strand also. Extra battery packs for the blasters and bazooka were attached around the belt much like Yuri's Bloody Cards were on hers. A tubular object was strapped to Kei's boot and was in fact a small holo and adio projector that Yuri had come up with and programmed for thier use in other missions. In addition thier trusty armbands with the life line attatched were secured to both of the lady's wrists.

At that point Kei was explaining to Yuri about the 'accessories'. "See," She said gesturing to the items,"If this place is as wild as the Sargent says than our outfits wont get a second glance. I mean, really, why would anyone in their right minds go into a club decked in weapontry? Its perfect cause they wont think anyone has the guts to do it!"

"Weeellll,"Yuri said slowly as she looked in the mirror,"I do like the belt and earings. They are definately me." Turning to catch the 'necklace' and 'shoulder band' in the mirror, she added,"And with Shasti,"The name was almost spit out,"in the picture nobody would blame us if we had some kind of protection. We are here to save people and it would best be done before she has a chance to put any plan she has into operation."

Turning from the mirror, she nodded,"Okay. Lets get going, its almost sun down now." The two ladies made their way, not unnoticed, to the club where they causually leaned against a wall and waited for the Sargent's arrival and the opening of the club.

Sgt. Arvis

My undercover wear was a little uncomfortable, but I would blend right in with the Retro's patrons. Tight black leather pants, with a studded red belt, chunky boots with armoured toecaps - a must with some of the more agressive dancing that went on in there - and a black waistcoat, with a flame motif on the back, which left my arms and most of my muscular torso bare, and a headband made from holofabric, which displayed on it random channels from the hypernet. A pair of Gee-M (Gravity Manipulation) shock gloves hung in my belt, with which I could punch through plasteel if I had to, and hidden in one boot, a molowire knife.

I caught sight of Kei and Yuri as I turned round the block, walking on the pedway, leaning against a wall. As I walked over to them, there was already a crowd of people fighting to get into the club, the burly exo-framed bouncers who stood in the entrance checking people over.

"Evening, ladies" I said, admiring their outfits. "Lets join the que before it gets round the block. This place packs out regularly."

Inside the Retro Manager's office
"Okay, start lettin' them in" said a tall, lanky man, brushing his greasy hair back from his face, as he turned to his guest.

"What ya going to do about the Dirty Pair?" he asked, scowling. "Having them here is bound to cause trouble."

"I'm sure it is Jas" replied the dark-haired woman, "but simply put, I'm going to kill them. After they left me to try and breath vac, its the least I can do to return the favour."

"Who knows what would happen if you actually tried to kill those two" said another voice. Shasti looked round to see a stranger standing in the doorway. "But it would be kinda interesting to find out."

"How'd ya get in?" asked Jas.

Outside the door, an exo-armoured Neo-Yakuza bouncer was slumped on the floor, not a mark on him.

"That's not important," smiled the man. "What is, is that I'm here to offer my help."

"Who the hell are you? And what makes you think we need you?" said Shasti, pulling a blaster swiftly on him.

"Hey hey, no need for violence babe. I bring gifts. My names Kyle, by the way" Sleet added, with a smile.

With that, he waved a small cartridge. "One Kei cold-housed molecular-memory matrix, and I've also got her genetic material tissue sample, from the 3WA not-so-secure security vaults." He grinned, adding "Primary ingredients for a grow-your-own-bimbo set. I'm sure we can... talk business."

Kei

Kei smiled and turned to Yuri. "I told you our outfits were perfect." Grabbing one of Sgt Arvis' arms while Yuri grabs the other, Kei's smile turned into a grin and she said,"Lets get this party on the road. We are wasting time just standing around here."

Sgt. Arvis

It wasn't long before we got to the front of the que, and the bouncers weren't about to keep us out. One glance - well, several stares - at the two women on my arms was enough.

As we passed through the sound-suppresion forcefield into the club, the heavy thumping sound of the music quickly hit us.

Whilst Yuri seemed to shrink at what she seemed to regard as a racket, Kei grinned broadly.

"I go by the name of Tarn in here" I said to each of them, "so what would you two like to drink? It'll be a while before the drop."

Kei

Kei's hips started swaying and her arms moved to the rythm of the 'music'. Grabbing 'Tarn's' vest, she pulled him onto the dance floor.

"Drink's later...I want to get some dancing in before anything goes down. It's a shame to waist such a good beat."

She almost had to shout over the music and practically dragged the sargent onto the floor before releasing him and starting to dance before him, not bothering to avoid the other dancers but using her hips to bump them out of the way. Her hands behind her head, her hips gyrating, she let the beat of the music guide her movements, ignoring any and all who stared at her.

Over her private com, she heard Yuri. "You are so insensitive."

"Ohh..Spank me, whip me because I'm insensitive," She sent back before wrapping her arms around Arvis' neck and leading him deeper into the dancing mob, her hips making way for them on their own.

Sgt. Arvis

An area on the floor seemed to open up about myself and Kei as we moved further into the seething throng of dancers. I smiled to myself, wondering how quickly the dance floor would be vacated if they realised just who she was. I certainly wouldn't be here if I had more of a choice in the matter.

But, despite the nagging fear in the back of my mind, I was enjoying myself. It'd been a while since I last danced with a woman, since... Raquel had... been...

I pushed those thoughts quickly back. There would be time later to dust them off, when the Neo-Yakuza deal went down.

Right now, I decided to enjoy the adrenaline rush my current company was giving me, and placed my hands on Kei's wildly swinging hips, thumbs resting on the waistband of her red leather pants.

Shasti

The dark-haired former 3WA agent glared at the intruder, Kyle, and then smiled happily... "You, sir, have just made my day!" She clapped gleefully, "A Kei of my very own, just like she used to be... so pretty and innocent, waiting to be molded. Or was that moldy? Whatever," she grinned in a fashion that caused several of the hardened criminals to step back and eye the exits, "name your price. I'm sure I can find some use for your toy!"
