The Lost World (OOC)

Note: Tried this on the SRP forum... very little interest *le sigh*

This thread will be based off the Conan Doyle novel and the television show that premiered on T.N.T. in 1999. The basic premise is that a group of rag-tag explorers go off to South America to obtain proof of the existence of a primeval world full of Dinosaurs and other creatures long-thought to be extinct. Stranded, they are forced to adapt and survive in their new "lost" world while trying to find a way back home.

Established characters (from the book and the show) are certainly open, as are custom characters. I only ask that interested persons send me a PM first before posting their character profile.

Name: Veronica Layton
Alias: Calia (Kuh-LEE-uh)
Age: 25

Veronica was just a young girl when she journeyed with her parents to the mysterious 'lost' world. Initially part of a research team, her family became separated from their group and Veronica, in turn, became separated from her parents. After wandering in the wilderness for days, Veronica was discovered by an indigenous tribe and taken in by the clan leader and his family. Although a party was formed to search for her parents, they were never found, and after a while Veronica was officially adopted by the group.

Over the years, Veronica, now known as Calia, grew up to become a beautiful young woman. She was taught how to defend herself, becoming quite proficient with bows, daggers and other primitive weapons. She was also taught the art of medicine and healing, able to tell which plants in the wild were safe to use and eat, and which were poisonous.

Though courted by numerous men in her tribe, Calia has withheld her heart and chooses instead to live in the wild, hunting the beasts that threaten her 'people'.​

Age: 18

Margaret, a beautiful and rebellious southern gal, lives with her mother Julie and her stepfather Carl.
Still attached to her biological father, Robert Stanford, Margaret strongly dislikes her new step-dad even though he's done everything he can to get her to like him.
Driven by the thought of moving out of the house and attending college (a university much closer to her real dad) in the Fall, Margaret has agreed to go with her 'family' on one last trip before school begins.
