Last year I ran away to Austin and spent the weekend with Blues' ex-wife. Previous years' trips were to Colorado, Toronto, central Pennsylvania (it was glorious waking up to 40 degrees there)/Maryland/Virginia, and that one to Memphis when the hurricane cancelled flights and we drove instead. What a mess that was.

I have been visiting here since 1998 when the site was young. I have posted stories off and on over the years, as real life and my muse have allowed me. I have read a lot more than I’ve written and this trend will surely continue. Am I an old-time dinosaur? Time to run away for a bit. I have companion status on Southwest (my designated companion flys free with me) but no companion. Womp womp. SW just offered me a one time discount on my next points trip. I'm thinking 3 or 4 days over the Labor Day weekend (that includes my birthday). Somewhere COOLER. Preferably with the sound of water, either waves, or running. My passport expired so it has to be in the States. Where should I go?

So a long long time ago on a different style board we had the general board. It wasn't what it is today. Which seems to be mostly about people's favorite type of porn. While we had that back in the day it wasn't the main reason for coming here.



While I don't know the in's and outs of what has gone on with people I do remember quite a few of them. Sure I wasn't buddy buddy with anyone but I could still shoot the shit regardless.



Anyways I stil see a few old timers on here. Which begs what would be considered an old timer? 2015? 2012? How well you settled and were accepted? Maybe your attitude?



I think moving politics to its own section was a mistake but that section doesn't have the traffic in my opinion.





Some of us have moved on, some of us have passed on, some of us never left, and some of us come back and forth.



Maybe some of you who know people outside of here can tell people to come say hello. They don't have to stay, but just a hello is nice.

Hmmm. I think you'd find the weather refreshing in most of the states on the Canadian border, but the wildfire smoke is a potential problem. For a future trip I'd suggest the NY finger lakes.

Portland, OR would be a refreshing change from TX.

We had a mini revolution and drove them back into the wood work, it probably wouldn’t last.
