I think the interest in lit has faded for some.
A lot of people had their own little circle of friends. This was how Lint and Clique came about. A way for people to stay in touch with their friends.
Then social media took off. The need for an old fashioned posting board was no longer needed.
People’s lives changed, as well.
Why was I not invited to the Clint back in the day? People even said I was in this clique, but I never got any bennies from that. The tee-shirt never arrived. The key to the castle was never delivered. The sugar walls never wrapped me in sweet thunderblanket-esque mild asphyxiatory ecstacy. Despite that, though... I doubt I'll ever give up on this place. I've had some wonderful fits of wild and wooly inspiration here. I wish I could hit eject on the IFB cassette before this all disappears.
I think this format remains better for hangin' out and fuckin' around than any version of social media has ever concocted. Here, you can set the stage HIT THE goddamn LIGHTS... you can connect the thoughts, you can have history and notoriety. You can run through the room like a loon and put a flower in Debbie's hair and wink at Rainy, and boop Gravy's giant nutsack on your way to the mezzanine for a flaming topper and a diddle. And everywhere around you are endless possibilities, from dark alleys, to waterslides, and the bright light of the soul.
