The Lit Boards at 5

I don't know if there's an official Lit Discussion Board birthday or not, but I noticed that the oldest registration date for any Litster is the one for Manu (no surprise); and it was 5 years ago today, 8/24/99.

It's been a pretty good run by Internet standards, coming up on 10 million posts. So at a time when a lot of people are disillusioned with the board (for understandable reasons), take a moment to appreciate what's still damn good about this place. And pay tribute to our forefathers and foremothers in raunch, who gave all so that we might perv.

Outsider was the first person I ever put on Ignore, for just that reason. I used to be such a purist about Ignore...oh, to be a naive newbie again.

I'm not a postcount snob. Unless you have too many in too short a time, in which case I'm likely to write you off as an out-of-place Playgrounder.

Even counting the long break I took, in between posting and lurking I've been here for about half the GB's history. And I'm still newbie-esque.
