He must persuade, not coerce, them to come to his place. For coercion he needs a weapon or other threat -- and they would still rationally try to resist.

One catches more flies with sugar than with vinegar so he had best be charming. He might say the road to their destination is too hazardous and generously offer them his guest room for the night. Once in his lair, he might feed them drugged food/drink to ensure the husband is asleep and the wife is compliant -- or maybe he wants them both. EDIT: Or he could offer them a hot thermos of drugged tea while they're en-route.

Anyway, that's a mechanism to get them into his house. What happens next is your story. Drink, drugs, and debauchery? A ritual cult? The mad scientist trope? A human zoo? Wherever you want to take it...

My objection is that if he threatens to leave them in hazard then they would rationally resist, physically, violently. Waving a weapon would do him no good -- he has to put it down *sometime*. The threat scenario just does not work.

Sure, such a story could be written. But it would not be believable.
