I have found that procrastinaiton followed by guilt is my most effective motivator. Since I tend to put everything off until the last moment, I am constantly in a flurry to get things completed on time. Matter of fact I must leave now to finish editing a friend's story that I have been avoiding for almost a week now.

I usually just write when I'm most up for it. If I pressure myself into doing it, I can never seem to get started.

I don't really think of it as motivation but I start to write when an idea comes to me. Once I have the idea, the stiory seems to sort of write itself. Sometimes it takes a while to come up with an idea,

A more serious reply Dar.

For the contests, going to the support thread really inspires me to continue. And when I feel like I can't do it, I just say so honestly and lots of people cheer me on! Check out the thread, make a post there and then get started.

When I was pounding out my long Valentine's story, I would write 200 to 500 words and then to shake it off a little. I'd pop in here to the support thread, see what everyone was saying and then go back to my story. I think it's my best story yet and my longest, so it must have helped.

If I'm not watching or reading other porn to motivate myself, I watch tv. Seriously, something always sparks an idea. Usually I watch The History Channel or National Geographic Channel. I also bribe myself with different teas and sometimes snacks if I'm having a really hard time.
