Our shared story begins with your character enjoying themselves on one of the many pleasure worlds set up by the Ministry of Entertainment around the Galactic Empire for the enjoyment of the empire's free citizens. Unless specified, each visitor enjoys a private section fully immersed in their chosen fantasy environment. One may explore history among those who made it or follow their favorite fictional character in their version of the world. It would have been a welcomed holiday until reality ripped into the simulation.
The emergency alarms blared, and you were directed to a safe location. You were placed into a suspended animation tube and promptly entered a land of dreams. You had no time to change, much less explore your surroundings, before drifting off when you awoke three standard years later, as per safety protocols, unless the situation was authorized and safe. You have no idea what caused the emergency or why you were left so long, but you have the resources to begin exploring.
In addition to your sleep chamber, the safe room contains a durable, if small-scale, powerplant, a food replicator device set up with the basics, your previously picked menu, and other essential devices. You also find a nearby room containing three cloning chambers with three copies of you awaiting release. They are copies of you, including the clothing and items you had on you when you entered your sleep chamber. Unfortunately, the machine requires service, but it can be improved and expanded.
Now, you must explore the level you are on, and perhaps you can find more components to get the cloning machine running, helpful equipment, and more answers. Also, there is the level above where your fantasy adventure occurs. What has happened after three years without anyone looking over the process? Are you brave enough to explore and find out answers?
