According to the Dark Legend, Lord Ganon rose to power by absorbing the life forces of others using necromancy. To combat him, the Triforce was created by the Seven Sages -- Power, Wisdom, and Courage. Sir Gladius of the Golden Knights of Hyrule, accompanied by Queen Zauna, planned to use the Triforce to defeat Ganon. However, Ganon's oldest son, Almach, managed to steal the Triforce of Power and delivered it to his father. Zauna kept the Wisdom, and Gladius kept the Courage.

The bearer of the Ultimate Triforce was supposed to attain a sort of godhood. The Triforce of Wisdom strengthens the mind, granting the bearer advanced psychic abilities. The Triforce of Power strengthens the body, granting the bearer strength, stamina, speed, agility, and highly regenerative cells. It also increases the body's energy, thus letting one use magic without growing too tired. The Triforce of Courage does not grant the bearer any new abilities, but it does enhance the ones they already have, and it provides a degree of protection from magical attacks and illusions, as well as poisons, diseases, and viruses. It does strengthen their will, and makes it easier to face their fears due to the protection spells. If one person reformed the Ultimate Triforce from the three fragments, they would have the ultimate mind, body, and protection. It would be nearly impossible to get past one's defenses, and even if they did, inflicting damage would be useless. When the Triforces are united, they strengthen each others' abilities -- a bearer of the Ultimate Triforce, for all intents and purposes, is immortal and any wound, no matter how severe, will heal instantly.

It came down to the final battle between Gladius and Ganon, which resulted in the Dark Lord's demise, because the Sages crafted the Master Sword for Gladius to use. However, before he could retrieve the Triforce of Power from Ganon's corpse, Almach summoned it and hid it away. He died without ever telling anyone where it was, save for writing it down on a scroll at one point. Gladius locked the Triforce of Courage away in the Hall of Destiny, and the Triforce of Wisdom was passed down to each generation of the Royal Family. It is believed the Master Sword was buried in Gladius' Tomb.

700 years later, a young wizard named Ganondorf first heard the Dark Legend from a traveling storyteller, who said that there were ruins of a once magnificent palace atop Death Mountain. This intrigued Ganondorf, for his father, who had died when the boy was just seven, had told him on his deathbed that he was named after their greatest ancestor, who had once lived in a palace atop Death Mountain. After completing his magical education, Ganondorf traveled to these ruins, and spent several years searching its depths for more information of his heritage. He learned many things from what writings remained, including the secrets of necromancy, but none so valuable as the chest he found underneath a loose brick in a wall of the room that used to be Almach's -- it was an old scroll that had a riddle hinting at the location of the Triforce of Power. It was at this moment that Ganondorf began his path of corruption. Prior to that discovery, he had been a decent man, wanting only to understand his lineage. But with the concept of ultimate power just beyond his grasp, he developed a much darker personality, though he almost always maintained a calm, polite demeanor. At times, it seemed he was saddened when forced to kill to meet his own ends.

He searched the world for a scholar that could decipher the riddle, and finally, after several more years, someone did -- turned out the Triforce was in a cave deep beneath the palace, sealed shut by magic. The dark priest who had deciphered the riddle, Agahnim, helped Ganondorf retrieve the Triforce of Power, and became his second and advisor. Using the enhancements the Triforce gave him, he was able to magically reconstruct the Dark Palace in just a few hours without even breaking a sweat.

Sensing the Triforce of Power had been reactivated, Princess Zelda (who could sense this because of the Triforce of Wisdom her mother passed on to her when she reached adulthood) informed her father, King Rhodus, immediately. Using the Triforce, they were able to find the location of the Triforce of Courage with their minds, but upon entering the Forest of Hope, they discovered that if anyone who was not a descendant of Gladius entered the forest, magical beasts appeared to keep them out, stating:

“Only the Sacred Sons and Daughters of the Great Hero Gladius may tread the paths of this forest unscathed. The Master’s blood, you have not. Swiftly depart, you must, lest you face the penalty of intrusion and the mercy of Lady Luna upon your soul.”

After returning to Hyrule Castle, Rhodus and Zelda decided to use the Triforce to call out to descendants of Gladius that had potent magic in their blood, so that they might venture into the Forest of Hope and secure the Triforce of Courage. They knew the dangers of such a large-scale call, but had no choice. Their fears were well-founded, for Ganondorf, through the Triforce of Power, was able to hear the message as well. In order to combat the descendants that would surely threaten him in the near future, he took a sample of his blood, and together with Agahnim, they used a dark spell to send their own message to those with the same blood as Ganondorf and his ancestor, Ganon. His blood and the spell were required because, unlike the Triforce of Widsom, the Triforce of Power did not grant the beholder the ability to send telepathic messages.

Thus, the Descendants of Destiny -- Disciples of Light and Scions of Darkness -- are called to fight in a war that started centuries ago.

It was a warm spring night in the small haven of Ordon Village. There was a light breeze brushing the treetops, and the sky was cloudless and full of bright stars. The moon shone brilliantly in the night sky, reflecting its light off the small stream that flowed through town. All was quiet, for most families had retreated into their homes for the evening, save for the men in the taverns. Only one remained out of the village-- Link. He was crouched down behind a bush in Deku Forest, his bow and arrow at the ready, and his eyes focused on the deer drinking from the nearby stream. He aimed carefully, and then with a quick rushing-air sound, the arrow soared and stood erect, impaling the now-fallen deer in the neck.

"Your sacrifice will not be in vain, my friend. You will feed and clothe children in my village," he said as he crouched down over it, bowing his head and closing his eyes as a sign of respect. He prayed that Lady Luna bless the animal's soul, and then wrapped it up in a large sheet, and tied it to his back with some rope. He hauled it out of the forest, down the path, and into Ordon Village, heading for the Market Square.

"All hail the mighty hunter, for he brings us food!" shouted a man as Link walked. He looked up and smiled -- it was Beegs (short for Beegulbart), the butcher's son. For the last few years, they worked together -- Link would hunt the game, and bring it to the butcher, who would clean and prepare it, and then give ten percent of the meat and skin back to him in place of payment. "Now if only you brought women to us like that!"

"Aye," Link said with a laugh as he heaved the carcass off his shoulders and onto the ground in front of Beegs. "It would be a challenge to find the time to hunt with so many women around who need... our attention." Beegs laughed hard.

"Indeed. Shall we drop off the deer and head for the tavern?" he asked.

"Aye," Link nodded. They both lifted up the deer and moved it into the butcher's pantry, then headed a few streets down to the Crimson Mist Inn and Tavern. They met up with some of their friends, and drank ale, singing songs together. Link wasn't too tipsy when he made his way home; he lived in a small cottage behind the alchemy shop. He turned the corner, and walked into his home. It was a single room, with a bed against the far wall, a chest of drawers, bedside table, a wash basin, and a wood burning stove. He pulled off his boots, trousers, tunic, and chemise, crawling into bed in just his knee-length linen drawers.

A few hours later, Link awoke, pulled on a dark robe, and made his way outside, and into a small shack where there was a chamber pot. He relieved himself, and on his way back to the cottage, there was a sudden bright light, and everything around him faded away. He found himself standing in a huge white room, and staring directly at him was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. When she spoke, it had a strange echo:

"I am Princess Zelda of the Royal Kingdom of Hyrule. I beg all who receive this message to join me at Hyrule Castle, for a great crisis is developing. Please, follow your hearts, and come to my aid. Together, we can thwart this crisis. Come as swiftly as possible, I beg of you... The fate of the world depends on it."

Suddenly, the white room grew brighter, then flashed, and Link found himself back outside his cottage. Well, he thought to himself as he reentered his home, I suppose I have a lot of traveling ahead of me.

The next morning, he dressed for the long trip, packed supplies into a sack, grabbed his sword, shield, bow, and quiver of arrows, and departed with his horse, Epona, for the Northern Freeway, which took him east along the Tantari Desert. After about a week, he came to a fork in the road -- the southeastern road led to the Maku Forest, while the southwestern led deeper into the Plentif Plains. Over the next two days, the road gradually turned southeast, leading to a fourway fork. Link and Epona turned and continued southwest, and after another two days, they came to a large bridge that spanned over a huge moat that surrounded North City. Many folk were coming to and fro, and as Link and Epona entered the giant city on the other side of the bridge, the sun was beginning to set.

After dropping Epona off at the stable, Link rented a room at the Orange Flame Inn. The following morning was the thirteenth day since leaving Ordon Village, and he was anxious to meet with the Princess. He retrieved Epona, then made his way to Hyrule Castle in the center of town. He dropped her off again at the Castle stables, and informed the guards at the double doors that he was answering the Princess' call. They let him in, and escorted him to one of the sitting rooms, where he was to wait for her to come downstairs.

((OOC: Okay Lily, Zelda is all yours.))

I fixed a few editorial errors, lol. My post as Ganondorf will be along sometime today.

Late at night, under the bright moon in the night sky, a cloaked man walked swiftly through the Lost Hills of southern Hyrule. He bent over as he entered a cave mouth, then stood up again and continued walking. He uttered a few words in another laungage, and the tip of his staff began emitting a bright light. He made his way through the twisting and turning tunnels of the Southern Caverns for what seemed like days, he finally came to an opening, which led him up a path to the tip of Death Mountain, where there stood a huge castle made of black marble, looming over him. He entered the double doors, then climbed the stairs to the top of the central tower. Through another set of doors, he found himself at the end of a large throneroom. Directly across from him, along the long red and black carpet, there sat another man, on the high-backed throne, with his eyes closed. The cloaked man approached him, and slid back his hood to reveal the face of an old man.

"My Lord, I have returned," he said in a raspy voice, bowing slightly to Ganondorf.

"Agahnim. I did not expect you back so soon," he said to the old man. "Am I to assume things have taken an unexpected turn?"

"Yes," Agahnim nodded. "It appears they cannot enter the Forest of Hope -- only a blood descendant is permitted to enter. They left empty-handed."

"Hmm..." Ganondorf considered the news for a few moments. "She will no doubt attempt to locate and contact one or more of Gladius' decendants with the Triforce of Wisdom. She is more than aware of the fact that we are connected through the Triforce, but she hasn't got a choice. We will wait and see what she does before we act further. You are dismissed."

"Yes, my Lord." Agahnim bowed again, then left the room. Later that night, Ganondorf was dragged out of his sleep by the message Zelda sent. The next morning, he and Agahnim created a blood spell that would call his distant relatives -- fellow descendants of Ganon. Shortly after people started showing up at Hyrule Castle, the Dark Palace got its own share of new followers.

Navi had visited the Great Deku Tree of the Sacred Forest dutifully to report on the unremarkable events of the day. Link had been in the tavern again and she had long since tired of watching him become gradually inebriated, clumsily flirting with the local girls. Rather than returning to Link immediately after the Deku Tree had dismissed her, Navi had lingered, chatting to old friends and soaking up the tranquil forest atmosphere that she missed so much. Hours had passed and the sun was rising when Navi returned to Link's modest dwelling. Link would still be slumbering, or awake and nursing a sore head. What was the point in rushing? Navi elected to fly rather than teleport, breakfasting on flowers as she travelled. Presently, she arrived back in Ordon Village.

He had gone.

She searched the house frantically, items had vanished that suggested a long trip and there was no sign of struggle or coercion. Cursing herself for tarrying overnight with her friends, Navi closed her eyes, centred herself and focused on the small room. There was the echo of magic here, the shadow of a spent spell. With no small effort, Navi located the source of it.

Hyrule Castle!

She raised her arms and then lowered them in a sweeping gesture as the spun in mid air. With a quiet 'snap' she disappeared and teleported to the Deku Tree to relay this news.

Aye Navi, it is time. Said the ancient tree spirit. Go thou and find him. This son of prophecy is about to meet his kin. Canst thou teleport so very far, Navi?

Navi swallowed and nodded determinedly. She would have to arrive within the Castle walls, taking care not to be discovered too soon. Rather than allow herself opportunity for doubt, she swung her arms up and twirled gracefully, before disappearing once more.

"Princess?"

Zelda looked up as the guard entered her room, getting up from her bed and smiling as he entered. "The first of them..?"

The guard merely nodded, holding open the door as she headed out. She wondered how many had truly received her message; would they all be coming to her aide now? If what she had seen was true, if hands only intent on evil had claimed the triforce of Power, there was a terrible trouble coming to blossom. Hopefully among those she summoned would be great warriors, those who would fight for her and Hyrule with the strength of a thousand men.. Warriors that could handle anything that may come their way...

"The first to arrive is in here, Your majesty."

"Thank you." Zelda smiled as the guard led her to the room, opening the doors once more for her and watching as she stepped through. "Thank you for coming," She said softly, her eyes on her hands as she started towards the man- only to look up and find not one of the great armored warriors she had hoped for; but instead, a young man who looked as though the only amazing battle he had taken part in was that with a deer or goose.

"...Oh..."

She hadn't intended the uttered word to come off as mean. More surprise than anything else... But if he had received the message, and was that fast to respond, there had to be more to him than what there seemed to be. She would give the young man the benefit of the doubt...

"Thank you for answering my call," She said softly, extending a hand towards him. "I am Princess Zelda- though I suppose you are already quite aware of that."

"Yes, I suppose so," Link replied with a smile, taking her hand and dropping to one knee, bowing his head. "It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesty. May I inquire futher into the state of things?" he kissed the back of her hand and returned to his feet. She was absolutely gorgeous, or so Link thought. As he gazed into her eyes, he felt lost in them, yet at the same time, found.

Navi appeared within the castle walls and stopped momentarily to catch her breath. Being mindful of the guards, she flitted about, peering through windows until she located Link within Princess Zelda's private rooms. With a sigh, she stretched out along the window ledge and listened carefully to their conversation.

Darrus

Darrus was glad to finally see North City come into view. He had been traveling for over a week now. It was slow going on foot even if he hustled most of the way. He had left after he started having the mysterious dreams had started. It was hard to imagine why Princess Zelda would be calling on him. Still, he felt it was his duty to investigate. He prayed to Luna that this would not turn out to be some kind of mistake, that he had just had a weird, meaningless dream. He shook that thought from his head. This was surely guidance from Luna, and he would not fail at whatever the task was that she had set before him.

It was the first time he had left his forest home in three years. It was hard to leave the forest where he had spent so much time communing with nature and his goddess. He had seen few others during his time there. Occasionally he found himself helping passing travelers. There was a village not far from the forest, but he rarely visited it. He simply stopped there for the occasional supply. He had entered the forest to be away from people. However, he had to admit that he looked forward to meeting people once again. It would give him a chance to see if his time away had worked.

Although there had been little chance to meet humans, he had not been completely alone in the forest. There were animals of all kinds living in the trees. The forest was home to all kinds of strange creatures. Perhaps the strangest of all were the fairies. The tiny creatures were the very essence of magic. They could be playful and pranksters, but they were easy to get along with. They alone had been his only real companions during the time in to forest, except for his goddess of course. He was slightly worried that one of his small friends might have fallowed him from the forest. He did not know how they would fair in the larger world. He often looked over his shoulder and thought one of them was tailing behind him, but had yet to catch a definitive glance.

Darrus entered the city. The sights and smells were overwhelming. After so long away from people, it was a shock to be surrounded by them. Still, he focused on his target, the castle. He was not sure how he would get in though. Would they be expecting him, simply let him in when he mentioned his dream? He hoped so. Sneaking in was not a promising prospect. As he neared the gates he looked up and for a moment could swear that he saw a fairy flying towards a window. Whether he had finally found the friend that had followed him or simply seen a glare from a window was unsure. In the end it would have to wait. Taking a calming breath he stepped forward and introduced himself to the guards.

A slight glimmer passed through Zelda's eyes as his lips brushed her hand, a twinge of a smile on her own lips as he pulled away. "You have power inside you. I can feel it, just being near you... and that is why you were able to hear my call. There is another power out there, however, set on evil... and it has begun to stir. The triforce of wisdom has alerted me to it, and I need the help of those connected to the triforce of courage to help me defeat it... My father and I tried to investigate further, but the Forest of Hope is blocked by creatures we have never seen before. Creatures that threatened us, claiming they would cause us harm if we dared to enter. I can only imagine that this is the work of Ganondorf, the holder of the Triforce of power."

She started to turn away, guesturing for him to follow. "Please, come sit. You don't need to be so formal." Taking a seat herself, she glanced towards the closed doors, the slight smile returning. "Another is soon to arrive... I can feel his presence as I could yours. As well as your friend there, at the window."

"Another? How many did you call out to?" Link asked, then suddenly realized Zelda mentioned a 'friend.' He turned towards the window and saw a cute little fairy sitting there. He got up and walked towards her, looking closely. "She... Princess Zelda called you my friend... I have never seen you before, yet I know we're connected. You have been following me, haven't you? For how long, little one?" he asked gently, a smile on his face -- he was always very kind to all forms of life, no matter how small.

Navi leapt to her feet and straightened as Link and Zelda looked at her. She curtseyed gracefully to the princess and then turned to answer Link. Usually, her voice was audible only as a whisper in the ear to Hylians, although her own kind and magical beings such as The Great Deku Tree could hear her perfectly well. Navi directed a stream of her blue light to her throat, amplifying her voice so that she could speak to both Link and Zelda at the same time.

"It is indeed true that I have been bound to Link for most of his lifetime and shall remain so until he dies. The forest spirit, guardian of the Sacred Forest Temple, The Great Deku Tree, he sent me from the forest where I was born. It has gradually become clear that Link has a special destiny and I have been part observer and part guardian."

Navi curtseyed again for good measure and then stood quietly to hear the rest of the conversation. It was very surreal to see Link smiling at her. For so many years he had been largely oblivious to her following him around. She had this burning impulse to hide that was now redundant. Navi smiled nervously back.

Darrus

Darrus was glad that the guards did not throw him out the gates for saying a dream had brought him to see the princess. It was nice to know that he really had a vission and had not just gone crazzy in the woods. They led him through the court yard and into the palace. They left him in the antechamber of a sitting room and told him that the princess was already in confrence with someone.

Darrus could hear voice on the other side of the door with his sharp hearing, a result of his animalistic heritage. He did not like the idea of ease droping, but if this had something to do with him and the vission then he needed to no about it. The door was thick enough to muffle sounds. After a moment, he desided on a course of action. Focusing himself, he started to pull out a portion of the primal rage that dwelled within him.

It was hot, like a white hot flame rising up from his center. His mouth could taste the power, like the blood of a fresh kill in his mouth. His body started to transform. His muscles strengthened and his hands and feet became more claw like. That is where he stopped it, holding the power at the level he needed.

He walked over to the window and crawled out. There was no window to the other room on this side of the building, so he would have to cross to the other side. His legs coiled, then with a powerful leap he was half way up the wall. His nails dug into the cracks and his firm grip helped him cling to the wall. He quickly climbed up the wall. He made his way over the roof then started to crawl down the other side head first. He stopped above the window and piered in. He listened for a moment and confirmed that the other man in the room had been called by the vission. He did not want to listen to anymore, to easedrop more than necessary. What shocked him to the point of almost falling from the wall was when the farie appeared. He knew he had seen one as he approached the castle. He did not know if he should be dissapointed or relieved that it was not one of his friends from the forest. At least he was fairly sure she was not if she was the partner of the man in the room.

Darrus quickly returned the way he came. He scurried along the wall and roof like a spider. He grabbed the window seel and swung himself in silently. He calmed himself and let the primal rage subside. He stepped towards the door and offered a prayer to Luna then knocked on the door.

"So, what is your name, little one?" Link asked the fairy, but before she could answer, there was a knock on the door. "Allow me," offered Link, walking over to open it -- a guard stepped in.

"Your Highness, I thought it would be wise to inform you that your other guest gave the women in the courtyard quite a scare. He is currently on the roof making his way back to this window out here, I suppose. King Rhodus requests that your guests refrain from scaling the walls of the castle and frightening the old ladies," he said with a smirk, then bowed slightly and left the room, shutting the door behind him. A few moments later, there was a knock. Link opening the door again, seeing the man called Darrus. He smiled and stepped aside, waiting for the Princess to invite him into the room.

Darrus took a calming breath as the door oppenned. H could see the princess as the other man stepped back to open a path for him. Darrus bowed low and spoke, "Princess, I believe you have summoned me."

There was a feral intensity in the newcomer's expression that put Navi immediately on her guard. She could detect a recent discharge of magic in his aura and she wondered what other powers he might possess. She flitted up onto Link's shoulder and whispered into his ear.

"I am Navi. I am older than I seem, yet still young for my kind. I was born in the Sacred Forest and dwelt among the ageless Kokiri until I was sent to you. I know you will have questions and I will answer them as best I can."

She sat on his shoulder, unwilling to perch there like a parrot or pet but also wary of the newcomer for a reason she couldn't fathom just now. She hoped very much that her unease was unfounded.

((Sorry... was incredibly sick the last few days. AGAIN.))

Zelda smiled as the small fairy flitted into the room, introducing herself to the man she had been following for what sounded to be quite some time. How curious, he had never even noticed the tiny creature at his side...

With the door's opening, she glanced to the guard, only to give a light laugh at his report of the new arrival's actions. "I'll do my best to keep them from scaring too many people," She promised, rising from her seat to go to Link's side. As the man in question arrived, she smiled, one hand resting on Link's shoulder as the other extended out to him, shaking her head as he stooped. "Please, don't do that. I don't wish for any of those I've summoned here to bow before me. A warrior needs to see the clear path before him, not the stones beneath his feet. Come, sit, both of you. And you as well, little one. As a companion to him, you will want to be here for this as well."

Returning to her own seat, she rested her hands against the side of the chair, taking a breath as she closed her eyes. "Forgive me... I still feel the triforce of power, and those using it. It can be a bit- overbearing at times." Raising her eyes, she looked to the new man, explaining. "The decendant of Ganon has awakened the triforce of power for his own dark deeds. Nothing he could have planned for that can be of any good... Summoning you all was a rather risky thing on my own part... In the same way that I can feel them, they are aware of what I'm doing as well. Still, I can't risk for him to cause harm to the people of Hyrule. I need your help."

Prince Truxsol

((Sorry I haven't posted as yet. Life has been literally hellish the past few weeks.))

As he was accustomed to, Truxsol noticed a late morning sun shining through his curtains. He could feel his mouth prickling from the heavy alcoholic fumes from the night before. He swayed clumsily over to the en suite bathroom and woke himself up with a cold splah of water to his face. Moving back into the room more alert he smiled warmly at his personal maid, Ora, as she drew the bed covers up over her exposed breasts in her sleep.

After dressing he made his way downstairs to check with the palace guard captain on the day's issues so far.

"Princess Zelda's guests started arriving this morning, sir. I was going to tell you when they arrived but Lady Ora was adamant you weren't to be disturbed for anything."
"Oh, she did, did she? Alright. Well, I assume she's already started meeting them?"
"Yes sir. For nearly an hour now sir, there's only two so far."
"And how many guards are in the meeting with my sister?"
"None sir."
"WHAT! Why not!"
"They're the people she sent for, my Lord, why should we guard them?"
"Because they could be lying, you idiot! Where are they?"
"In the blue morning room, sir. I shouldn't worry about them sir. There was some trouble earlier when one of them strated climbing over the building but noth..."
"You didn't think that was something worth waking me up about!? Go and get the guards on duty and get to the blue room, I'm going there now"

And with that he rushed off to protect his sister from the imaginary spies who'd infultrated his castle.

"Of course, we will help however we can," replied Link. "What must we do?" Meanwhile, King Rhodus was sitting in his study reading when he heard some commotion in the corridor outside.

"Prince Truxsol has ordered all castle guards to report to the Blue Morning Room at once," a guard lieutenant was saying to an underling. "Assemble your company and report there as well."

"Understood," replied the other guard, running off. Rhodus opened his door and called the lieutenant into the study.

"Is there a problem in the Blue Morning Room?" he asked.

"The Prince certainly believes so, Your Majesty. He is concerned that Her Majesty Zelda does not have guards in her meeting with those she summoned," explained the lieutenant. Rhodus sighed.

"That boy is my son and I love him, but sometimes his head is as thick as the walls of this castle," Rhodus shook his head. "He is so eager to issue commands and become a leader, yet he fails to grasp certain aspects which should be common sense for a good king. Thank you, I shall take care of this matter myself."

Rhodus slipped out of his study and took a few shortcuts, stepping out from a doorway hidden behind a painting just as Truxsol made his way around a corner. "Where are you off to in such a hurry, my son?"

"Oh, Father. Quick, I'm not sure but I really don't feel comfortable leaving Zelda alone with people we don't know. I called the guards, C'mon, we're nearly there." Truxsol said breathlessly as he passed.

Once again he wished his father would tell him how to access his secret pathways. He was blatant about their locations but no one had ever managed to enter them apart from him.

As Truxsol passed him, Rhodus reached out and grabbed his shoulder, pulling him back and turning him to face the King. "Do not disturb the meeting, son. Do you honestly believe I would allow this meeting if there was a legitimate risk?" he sighed. "You seem to have forgotten one of our family's greatest treasures -- the Triforce of Wisdom. If your mind did not wander during your history lessons you would be better suited to rule once I pass on. You have previously expressed wishes to be free from your duties as future ruler of our kingdom, but I always expected you would grow out of that phase and accept the responsibility. I had hoped putting you in charge of the castle guards would give you a taste of being a leader and inspire you to accept the crown. However, if you truly want to be free, I shall have no choice but to pass the crown to Zelda when I die. Some people may be angered at a female leader, but her kindness and purity will reach even the most stubborn."

Rhodus looked his son in the eyes for a few moments, then sighed. "Tell me, Truxsol, why did you command the guards to interrupt Zelda's meeting? If you are so concerned, shouldn't you have been awake prior to the meeting to make certain the guards were present? Regardless, guards are not necessary in her meeting -- she has the Triforce of Wisdom, and if a dark soul had approached, she would have called the guards to deal the imposter. You know as well as I that it is impossible to lie to her when she has the Triforce activated without her knowing you do not speak the truth. I remember once I tried to lie to your mother about sneaking pastries from the kitchen pantry when she caught me in a corridor in the middle of the night. The castle healer had advised me to reduce the amount of sweets I was consuming, and your mother was very adamant that I obey." he laughed at the memory, then patted his son on the shoulder. "You are worried about your sister, and that is very good indeed, but just remember she is the bearer of the Triforce and a lot more resourceful than you think. If anyone in that meeting posed a threat, she would be able to sense it. Although, I heard one of her guests was spotted climbing the castle walls, which is rather bizarre, but she still allowed him into her meeting, which means he must be pure."

Rhodus turned to walk away, then turned back to his son. "Do not disturb her." With that, he disappeared behind a statue and through another secret passage way.

Brought to his senses by his father's brief speech Truxsol let go of the panic he'd been feeling but full trust didn't come immediately. He knew his sister could take care of herself but he didn't want to be far away if he and his father were proven wrong. He started to hurry towards the meeting once again, this time to prevent the gurads from crashing the party, fully intending to wait outside to make sure everything went alright.

Darrus paid close attention as the princess spoke. He nodded as he listened to what she said as he contemplated the implications of her words. Truely the goddess a plan for him. He would have to utilize every fiber of his being to stop this comming darkness. It was a lot to swallow, but he calmly took it in.

As he listened he scanned the others in the room. The young man on the chair looked like he would make a decent allie. The little fairly looked like she would be usefull as well. She seemed to be giving him a wary look though. She was likely sensing the predator spirit inside of him. Her kind were very intune with the natural and mystical world. To try and put her at ease he opened a small pouch and retrieved some sweet berries from the deep forest. They were rare and hard to find and the fairy folk were fond of them. He held them out in the palm of his hand with a gental smile.

"Only you that have heard my call are able to help with defeating this evil. Only you are allowed admittance from your heritage into areas that hold resources we need... And this same ancestry will assist in defeating those who wish us harm."

Zelda's eyes fell upon the new man in the room, looking past him a moment towards the door, the smile returning to her face. "My dear brother...," She said softly, uttered to no one in particular.

Returning to her prior conversation, she guestured to the fairie perched beside Link. "You as well will be a great assistance, little one. Link will need as much help as he can from the likes of you, and I would appreciate any time you would be willing to give."

Looking between the two men, she tilted her head a moment. "Were either of you aware of what was inside you? That... you had such heritage? And such power? Call it my curiosity. I only wish to know more about the men who Hyrule will call saviors."
