Hello,

I would like to offer a chance for a fluid and dynamic role play based on the current BBC production of Robin Hood. I am open to all characters involved in the show as well as new ones any might see fit to play. Though I do claim the role of Marian for myself and will have very specific qualities I will be seeking in both Robin and Guy of Gisburne.

What I would ideally like to see is a well rounded cast of men and women, quality players who like to enjoy what they are doing and have fun with the rp. It may have fast and slow periods and if for whatever reason anyone would need time off or to back out simply asking for either is all it will take.

For players who interested but are not familiar with the show let me direct you here , the official BBC site for the show. I myself have only seen the first 9 episodes as I am in the States and not entirely familiar with the later seasons. This shouldn't be too much of a problem as the RP can start at any point and I will be tossing out a generic post to that effect once I have enough of the cast to have things rolling.

This is not a steamy hot sex rp, so if you desire a strictly sexual or even vastly sexual game you would wish to look elsewhere. If, however, you enjoy some tongue in cheek dry humor, a bit of action, chivalry, politics and intrigue this might be well worth your while. That said there will undoubtedly be intimate situations, and those I should like to keep in the realms of consensual with blackmail as the most force involved.

Brief (stolen) bios of the characters are below for your consideration. Please PM me or reply in this thread for consideration. Be wordy, as you can likely tell I am, be descriptive and enjoy writing.

Robin, Earl of Huntington and Lord of Locksley
Our Robin is a noble - Robin of Locksley - who returns with honors from the Holy Land - and a new perspective on fairness and the value of human life. Clever, idealistic, arrogant but selfless, dryly humorous, heroic, a little world - and battle-weary, undaunted by authority, sometimes outrageously bold but always principled.

The Lady Marian ~la_petit_morte~
Courageous, smart, proud Marian is as adventurous a champion of the poor as Robin. Marian must appear to toe the line in Nottingham for the sake of her father, but her toughness belies the pain of lost love: her heart is yet to be unlocked. The years may have eroded Marian's gentleness but they have left untouched her generosity of spirit and keen sense of duty to her people.

The Sheriff of Nottingham
( He has a name and for the life of me I can't recall/find it)
A ruthless, charming, ambitious, paranoid, driven, cruel, calculating, political-minded, insecure, witty, devious, intelligent, highly-strung strategist.

Sir Guy of Gisborne
Vain, brutal, ambitious, loyal, practical, unemotional, single-minded, boastful, frustrated, he's a selfish bully. Gisborne is capable of tremendous cruelty in his overwhelming pursuit of heritage and position, yet beyond this drive for recognition is his one hope for redemption: Marian.

Will Scarlet
Son of Locksley's carpenter, Will is the gang's chief engineer. He can construct anything from any material, so long as it's wood. Will's family suffered during the bleak years of Robin's absence, and his passionate hatred for all things Sheriff makes him fundamental to the gang's central mission.

Little John
Little John was leader of the forest outlaws before Robin arrived. A man of few words and much muscle, John has a more simplistic morality than Robin's: see a problem, sort it out. But underneath that brute strength, is Little John hiding a big heart?

Allan A'Dale
Witty, cheeky, Allan can talk the hind legs off a donkey. He would talk the hind legs off his own donkey, and find himself having to walk, if Robin did not rein him in. He is a pathological liar, and a brilliant front-man for scams.

Much
Robin's manservant is sometimes daft, forever loyal, forever hungry, forever yearning for the warmth of the home fire. He makes us laugh. He SO doesn't want to be in the forest. And yet, if he wasn't by Robin's side - wherever that may be - we know Much would wither and die.

Djaq
Djaq's presence sometimes proves a threat to the gang's masculinity, as the outlaws frequently try to prove that they have skills she cannot match - usually without success. The fact is, Djaq is an incredible woman, and an even more incredible man. She's a talented scientist. The tricks she picked up from her physician father, combined with the knowledge she brings of both Saracen science and medicine, adds another string to the gang's bow.

These are only the ongoing regular cast and sadly lacking in female parts, but well written and played original characters will flesh out the stories even better and I encourage (implore) you to bring them in!

This has run on entirely longer than intended and I'll hush now except to say that this will be a closed story line, and I reserve the right to approve to deny applicants based on past role play, general attitude and suitability to the story line. I will be fair but I want everyone to have a good time, and the thread will come first.

It has been sugested that the lack of female roles defined in the intro might scare people away. So this thread maybe be closing to just a Marian/Robin thread if I can find an interested player for Robin.

I do have links to sites with the episodes so feel free to PM me about it.

I've never seen the show myself, though I may have to go check it out now, but I'd be interested in playing doing a 1 on 1 Robin Hood thread.
