Thanks for the interview SA Storm.
Several people sent in their questions. I had intended to quote them but a power outage caused me to lose the document I had them saved on. Therefore, I had to go from memory.
Contributors are:
Enchanted, Daughter, WickedEve, Paul C and Katpurrs!
- "Vacation Time" has caused quite a stir on the Board since it hit the New Poems list, especially amongst the ladies. Since I am one of those ladies, I feel I know why we are so enthralled with it. Why do you think this is so? (KatPurrs)
(Laughing) Probably because it’s about consideration of a lover, the intimacy they share and of course sex. The sensual aspect of the scene heightens those characteristics. Women I think are far more sexual than men. Their sexuality has levels that ours does not. This is a generalization but I think its true. I do write for my audience so with this poem I tried to give it an additional depth that would resonate with the readers. The poem seems to work on the levels I intended it is warming, comforting, erotic, and thoughtful. To come back to the question I think the poem stirs on all those levels.
- Risking that this might be taken as an affront to your privacy, but I must ask since so many want to know, is your approach to your poetry from real life experience or from fantasy, or a combination? (Enchanted and Paul C)
I would not say fantasy. It certainly isn’t pages from my life. I am not that kind of writer. Rarely, I write about my own life experience. Not to say I’m not inside there somewhere. Often I borrow feelings, thoughts from other writers, friends, and lovers. “Vacation Time” is a rare exception. The first stanza is real. The lines in the poem “she wants to be more than parking spaces” is from something I heard a woman say to my college roommate years ago which was something like “I’m not a hole for your dick” Another line “Which do you prefer?” is plagiarized from my life also.
- Who are your favorite poets, either on or off Literotica? (Paul C)
The list is far too long I enjoy Elliott, Frost. Nurada, Sandburg, Billy Collins, Sonia Sanchez, there’s just too many. On Literotica that’s easy. While I read a lot of people, the poets I always open are rnabokov, daughter, WickedEve, smithpeter, risiaskye otzhiim.
- I read a thread that you have written some prose and plan to put it up on the stories list here at Lit. Can you tell us what category it will be under and give us the keywords to the story? (KatPurrs)
I have several I plan to submit. As far as what categories I would use: Erotic, fetish, BDSM, humor, non-consent.
- I believe I'm correct in saying that some of your material has been published. If so, was it prose or poetry and where was it published? (KatPurrs and Daughter)
I have had some of my prose published in magazines and my poetry has been included in anthologies of local artist. I have also written several plays that were produced by local theater groups. I have yet to be published on the “internet” If one believes that such a thing is possible. My work has appeared On the East coast and the Midwest.
- How long have you been writing poetry? Can you remember your first poem? (Paul C)
Since I was very young, 9 or 10 at least, so around thirty years. I can barely remember the poem some rip off of “Roses are red Violets are blue,” it was the first handmade valentine card I gave.
- Is there a link, a variation on a theme, between your two poems "Who We Are" and "What Would Don Quixote Do?" (Taken w/o UP's permission from the thread "New Poems List")
Yes there surely is, both are from a play I wrote last year called “Outside Eden” That poem is also here at Literotica. The play flopped by the way.
- Do you sometimes go into a poem intending to make it as thought provoking as possible? Some of your poems make me feel like a voyeur, peeking in your bedroom window, yet some leave me saying, huh? "Rive" is one of those that escape me. Or am I being obtuse again? lol. "Shattered Like A Glass Goblin" affected me the same way but I finally figured that one out with the help of some posts, I think. (KatPurrs)
Not really, I write based a lot on mood if I’m not writing as a job. “Rive” is one of my favorites; it makes perfect sense to me. It was done as a performance piece with a couple of mimes at a gallery party. Now that was a riot! I’m standing in all black very “New York” under this green light while two virtually nude women with white mime make up contort themselves around me physically interpreting the poem while Japanese folk music played in the back ground. It was a hoot! “Shattered like a glass goblin” was written around the same time though the two are not connected. That poem is based on a short story I read by Harlan Ellison I did get permission to reuse the title. I read those analyses they were good but mostly off target. (Laughing)
- What do you read? Is there any particular theme or genre that you prefer? (Daughter)
No not really I read everything, as long as it is thoughtful.
- Most of what we write is taken from real life experiences. Was "Vacation Time" as good for you as it was for me? (WickedEve....who else! lol)
LOL alas, it was not real more a dream with bits of realty gathered over years. Now if you’re interested in doing this as a performance piece, call my agent. I work for scale.

Well, so much for a 5-question interview instead of 10 questions! Now that I've started, I could go on and on! Thanks for your involvement here, SA. It's great to see you on the Board and on Lit in general.
Thank you, I will try to be more active on the boards. If I may self promote I have two new poems which should appear Tuesday of Wednesday They are not fully polished but please read them and offer your opinion they are titled: “Watermark” and “Innuendo”
