So, is there supposed to be a love connection thing between Kyle and Kara, because I don't want to intrude or anything. I'm a little oblivious to all of this.
So, I'm not trying to be sexual with my last entry, I just thought that it would be one hell of scene when Kara walked in her house to see Bruce like that. lol.
Rose McCrimmon is the niece of infamous maverick scientist Dr. Emil Hamilton.
Hamilton, once a valued researcher at S.T.A.R. Labs in Metropolis, has abandoned a life of storied and studious academic glories to obsessively pursue the ramifications of the Smallville meteor shower, insisting that the properties of these rocks from beyond the solar system have such untapped potential so as not to be believed. Ostracised by the scientific community, he had begun working out of a garage on the Smallville property of his niece Rose, and her mother, Ceri McCrimmon.
Her father Jamie Hamilton, Emil's brother, divorced from Ceri, worked for S.T.A.R. Labs in Keystone City, and had recently dropped by the neighbourhood with a special request for the man.
Two experimental gun-shaped weapons, one a great source of heat, the other an engine of vicious cold and ice, were recently recovered from villains wreaking havoc in the Keystone-Central area. The heat gun was a fairly simple device, but the mechanism of the cold gun remains a mystery even to S.T.A.R.'s keenest intellects.
Jamie had asked Emil to examine them together, as two halves of a whole, to see if he couldn't discern secrets that had escaped more conventional minds. Emil, in turn, had demanded that he perform this examination under one condition: that Jamie take a meteor sample back with him to Keystone in order to verify Emil's results.
And this is where the trouble came.
Because, in transporting the heat gun, the cold gun, and a meteor rock together...
...together in the same S.T.A.R. company car as his daughter, coming with him for a custodial visit and perhaps a Keystone Combines practise...
...Doctor Jamie Hamilton neglected to take certain basic precautions.
On the outskirts of town, Jamie got out of the car, left the engine running as he ran into a convenience store for coffee for the road.
Left the engine running with the three artefacts in the trunk, and with Rose asleep and swathed in a blanket across the backseat.
An unidentified male leapt into the car and made off with it.
His intentions were never made clear. Nor was it clear if he even knew that Rose was in the car.
He sped towards Granville, his reckless driving bringing him quickly to the attention of the County Sherriff's Department.
They gave chase, and an unfortunate turn of events caused the stolen car to be driven in front of an oncoming train... driven there, and stuck there across the tracks...
Hysterical, the thief abandoned the vehicle, but was struck by a piece of debris kicked up by the passing locomotive and died on the spot.
The locomotive, unconcerned with the death of such a man, continued right on going and ploughed right into the car still stuck in its path.
The car exploded. Went up in flames... and sheets of ice... and plumes of emerald light.
Miraculously, inexplicably, impossibly, Rose seemed to have been thrown clear of the car, and of the explosion.
She awoke in the hospital a day or so thereafter...
...not a scratch on her. Though where her eyes had ever been emerald green, they were now, inexplicably, blue as the sky over The Arctic.
This was months ago, and since then her powers have surfaced.
Jamie and Ceri, tenuously reunited by the tragedy, have been helping her cope with their implications as well as charting their limitations while Emil continues to study meteor rocks in his makeshift garage lab.
They had fully intended for Rose to rejoin the school populace today, but Rose has ever been a timid sort, this made worse by the trauma of her transformation, and she decided to fake sick, to stay home.
She will likely not be so lucky tomorrow.

Powers: Moderately enhanced overall physique
including very low level superathletic abilities (chasing down cars on foot, bending metal bars with effort, sharpened senses), hardy metabolism, and just a touch of injury resistance; Pyrokinesis (Capable of emitting extremely high temperature heat and flame (accompanied by auras of molten golden light)); Cryokinesis (Capable of lowering temperatures drastically to below-freezing levels (accompanied by auras of blue-white lightning) and simultaneously telekinetically manipulating water molecules in the air to create physical ice); Immune to extremes in temperature; Capable of adjusting her vision to see in the infrared spectrum; Capable of detecting trace amounts of water molecules in the air around her; Unassisted Flight
Weakness: Her energy reserves are, for the moment, limited (these will develop over time), and therefore too much exertion of power too quickly will cause her to be exhausted. Also, her cowardice could be considered a weakness... though this, too, may improve with time. Like most metahumans on the face of the Earth, her potential power levels do not hold a candle to Kara's.
Thanks Raven, I guess I was more or less just giving my character something to do without getting lost. He really doesn't fit in the story line just yet.
What is interesting, though, is the name of the mothers of both Kara (or Clark Kent) and Bruce Wayne. If I'm not mistaken, Bruce's father's name was Thomas, and his mother's name was.....Martha....
