What if a guy uses his money to see how far he can push people? To have employee's wear kinky uniforms. To offer models to do things on film...

I like the idea that the billionaire is the sort of bastard who's convinced all people have a price and he happens to be wealthy enough to afford that price. A real controlling prick who seems to get off on pushing the envelope farther for no apparent reasons than "because he can" or "he's just a bastard."

As for redeeming this rascal, the cliché would be for him to find someone incorruptible. Or, for someone to finally get enough on him that he becomes the victim. Or, he falls in love (sigh).

Trying to figure out how to redeem him IS a challenge, but here's the corny idea that occurs to me: he only appears to be a cad while each of his actions - no matter how far over the top they appear on the surface - results in growth for the participants, helping them overcome issues in their lives and releasing them from their mental or emotional bindings. He's motivated because of the other great cliche, the golddigger. He's had so many people try to get close to him for his money that he's become utterly disgusted with the whole human race. Women, in particular, in his mind are all whores. Every woman he's met has basically offered him sex for money, though mostly they dress it up and call it love, but he notices they only love him when they get whatever they want, whenever they want it.

He's become so bitter that whenever he finds a woman he actually does like and respect, a woman who seems to have integrity and honesty, he gets paranoid. He believes that every woman will be a whore for a price, and he has enough money to find out what that price is. Then, of course, he has to punish them for deceiving him by seeming virtuous by humiliating them and destroying their reputation.

As for redeeming him, I think that only happens when he finds a woman who loves him for who he is. I know, I know - you thought your idea was corny. Maybe she's known him and watched him and seen how he has been twisted and warped, and she puts herself in his way. He plays his little game with her, and of course she appears to succumb eventually, but only after they've spent time together.

He thinks he's broken her, except in the morning, she's given it all back. He keeps coming back, and she keeps letting him buy her off, but then giving it back. Eventually, he starts to see that what she wants is him, not his money, and he starts to untwist.
