The king paced up and down in his room. He couldn't believe the arrogance of the Knight. Yes he had saved the life of his son in battle. Yes his son got on very well with his eldest princess.
But suggesting that their daughter should marry his son. “Prosperous!” he shouted, punching the air with his clenched fist.
“Calm Down your highness.” suggested his senior Adjt, his aide de camp. “May I be so bold that they would make a perfect couple!”
“Yes, Yes, Yes, i can see that, but he made the suggestion, and not wait. The arrogance, the insolence, the CHEEK.! Off with his head!”
“Well yes there is that your highness. But he has fought well for you your highness, and has a good Regiment of foot at your disposal”
A few days later, He was at the end of a two day journey to the Nobleman's castle, the castle could be seen in the distance. He closed the curtains, as he continued to read, alone in his state carriage. It wasn't long before the wooden wheels hit the cobbled road, the change in sound, the echoes. He was inside the castle walls, and sighed with relief.
His country, kingdom was safe for the most part, and his elite group of bodyguards were some of the most loyal soldiers in the kingdom. They were also well paid. The carriage door was soon opened as the carriage came to a halt, and his doorman smiled.
“We have arrived your highness.”
“Thank you Baldrick.”
Before long the King was in his room, as he bathed in water, before meeting his hosts over dinner. It was purely a business affair, and by rights, he should have demanded them to visit him, but he had a plan, relating to the marriage of his prince and the daughter of the noble; a plan, lesson that will teach the Nobleman, and put him in his place.
In his gowns, he waited until 1810 before he left his room, and headed for the dining room, where his hosts would have been waiting for over ten minutes. He always kept his guests, or hosts waiting, that was his privilege.
