Workers are constructing a review stand for the Inaugural parade
in front the White House as preps and decorations are underway.

That works happens every four years regardless of election outcome.

Interesting fact:

If the two Georgia seats go to the Democrats, the Senate will be split 50-50, but the Democratic half will represent 41,549,808 more people than the Republican half.

MartinHeidegger's post

DC needs statehood.

Not so certain that I agree with this- the key is balance, and there may be
a hidden downside and a dire price to be paid for a sudden rash decision.
Protective tradition is not to be overturned because of one arsehole with
power, and his troops of reckless trolls.

We did not endure these recent horrors, for the sake of the baby, only to throw
the baby out with the bath water.

Yes, because taxation without representation is one of the textbook, historical grievances that rightfully was opposed by the Founding Fathers and the Sons of Liberty, so why impose it now? And yet that's exactly what they suffer in DC. They're taxed, but have only a non-voting delegate and three Presidential electors. No Senators at all.

It's just plain wrong.

that's just wrong. how is that in any way 'fair and equal representation'?

I'm listening to Ng's press conference and I am in fucking AWE of this woman. I wish my daughter was old enough to understand the enormity of this moment......guess that's my job to impart.

I've heard nothing but good things about her. I need to find that presser somewhere so I can see for myself what she's all about.

Pennsylvania SC just laid the smack down.

@usnews: Supreme Court has declined to take up a case challenging Pennsylvania's absentee ballot receipt deadline.

Trump's campaign and Republicans have waged legal battles in PA and around the country. Many of those cases have so far been unsuccessful.

Open Message to Donald J. Trump, 45th President

Dear Donnie,

You lost. Get over it, man up, put on your orange wig and your big boy pants, put away that Big Mac and Diet Coke for a second, stop tweeting, stop feeling Ivanka up for a moment, and call President-Elect Joe Biden to concede graciously to the winner.

Sincerely,
An Independent American Voter

Stanford says 'who dat?'

https://news.stanford.edu/2020/11/16/statement-regarding-scott-atlas/

Stanford News:

The university has been asked to comment on recent statements made by Dr. Scott Atlas, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution who is on leave of absence from that position.

Stanford’s position on managing the pandemic in our community is clear. We support using masks, social distancing, and conducting surveillance and diagnostic testing. We also believe in the importance of strictly following the guidance of local and state health authorities.

Dr. Atlas has expressed views that are inconsistent with the university’s approach in response to the pandemic. Dr. Atlas’s statements reflect his personal views, not those of the Hoover Institution or the university.
