Sad to see these posts on Be Kind to Lawyers Day.

(I can neither confirm nor deny that I am an attorney).

why does anything court-related seem to take foreverrrrrrrrrrr ?

two words: billable hours

In this case it was probably valid, the police have not finished their investigation so today's hearing was probably premature.

Yep. Why do in a day what you can do in 6 months?
I truly despise lawyers.

generally speaking its is the sleaziest profession on the planet. I trust drug dealers more than most lawyers.

Some lawyers are fine, most lawyers I know are great. However, it is a bit self selecting,

a while back, where i rent a house from the local council, i had to get a sworn affidavit stating my ex no longer lived there and when he left. Basically, a 2-line statement. had i gone the regular route where the solicitor prepared the document and we both signed, they wanted to charge over 100 pounds. certain wording has to be specific. instead, i found the right wording online on templates, typed out my own document, printed it off, signed it, and took it into the solicitor who signed it for the grand sum of 5 pounds. still not bad, 5 quid for less than a minute's work.

That is a boiler plate letter and most lawyers would rather not do them.

Just to give the other point of view, there are lawyers who work pro bono to fight dodgy extraditions or renditions, or uncover miscarriages of justice, or focus on human rights...Commercial law is a cess-pit entered by those only interested in money, I accept, but there are other types of law. There will be people alive today who would be dead were it not for good lawyers.

I mainly know plaintiff's attorneys, some quite well like my favorite Texas biker lawyer.:D

When is "be kind to someone with fake cancer day"?

I don't see it on my calendar.

The cool news is that my great-ad-infanitum granddaddy was a king of Scotland. The bad part is, he was apparently kind of a crappy, weak one.

Still, I must insist on being addressed as Lady Lorilei now. Because it's more alliterative than Princess Lorilei.

This is so sad. Can't he/it find some where else to post he/it's nonsense. Holy cunt pickle!

Works for me Lady Lorilei. :)

My poor pup. He was doing well on his meds and he just reinjured his ACL. Now I need to keep him quiet for the next 24-48 hours. :(

Yes, he has a tear in the ACL joint of the knee. Trying to prevent rupture and a very expensive surgery.
