It's way off into the future, but on my long term goals list. I'm enjoying researching, so I think going after a PhD would be fun. And hopefully by that time I'll be out of the McJob and doing something I love.

I completely agree with DGE, Dr Wenchie sounds great! However...

Research is fun, but getting funding for your research isn't so much fun. Take this from someone, who witnessed this horror with boyfriend#1 for 1,5 years and boyfriend#2 for 3 years. Academia is a weird world. :(

I'm so glad J (aka boyfriend#2) decided to throw in the towel, as jumping the hoops for funds was making him miserable. Then again, next year this time he probably would have been defending his thesis. He still seems happier this way.

(I've always thought I don't have a pattern in the guys I go for, but maybe I do. Struggling PhD students. Although J wasn't one when we met, so there goes that theory.)

Yeah, I know the funding bit can be a nightmare, but I figure, no need to worry about that now. I still have to get my BA or BS haven't fully figured out the difference yet, but I'm so far from having to decide, again, no use worrying now.

This wasn't easy, I know, but I'm sure your love of your friends, and your and their love of life, shone through, and that it's one of the many ways you can and will keep them alive in not only your heart, but the hearts of all those who loved them.
