The Inner Life Of A Cell

Very cool. If they'd had stuff like that when I was a kid, I might have read biology rather than physics.

Yeah...I was just watching it and thinking, "I should know what all this stuff is right now...I guess I need to study more...."

OK but only because you called me a bitch.
Think of what happens to all those little structures--only some of which are visible through a standard microscope--when you get swatted on the ass.

I'm sure they are freaking out as much as I am...Me in a good way...Them probably not in such a good way.

When you start learning about cell structure, it just gets amazing really fast. The cell membrane is just a bunch of unattached molecules that line up that way because of the electrical charges at each end of them...that's it. The thing that makes cells not just squish is that they have this astounding protein matrix that gives them structure...when you swat a butt the proteins keep them from smushing like a bug...that and all the fluid around them. It's just amazing.

It is very cool stuff. I was amazed when I took general Bio last semester. The electrical charges messed with me a little bit though. I had trouble getting that through my thick skull.

We just finished the section on dna expression and stuff. Into cell respiration now, which is more comfortable for me.

That is fantastic! I started out with biology thinking of medicine, I'm not sorry about changing directions but I've always loved bio, it's fascinating.

Excellent share Perg, thanks.

This is a cool video, goddammit. Watch it, bitches.

I didn't watch it in tenth grade biology and I'm not watching it now!

Good luck with it. Even though some of the stuff I struggled with I got an A in the class.

My pleasure. What do you do? I'm an older postbacc premed right now.

When you were in tenth grade they...wait, you're from Minnesota right? Nevermind.

Nice work. I did really well when I took it at a lower level last spring. So far I'm...not so happy. I'll probably wind up with a B.

Well I flunked A&P so badly this semester that I dropped it 3 weeks in to it. My Prof. was a bastard to say the least. You'd think that working in a hospital/nursing home for 14 years would help a little but it didn't. I'll try again next semester with a different Prof.

Why are you taking them? I think you already told me, but I've forgotten.

True, that. They finally get some time on the big screen. Well, the screen anyway.

Hey, they hit my screen every time I turn on the microscope. Just give them more air time.

I had an opportunity to own a microscope once for free...long unnecessary story, but I don't. I wish I did.

I don't think I have. I'm trying to get into a Rad Tech program but I'm starting to think I'm not cut out for school. I pretty much hate it and want to go back to work.
