I scooped this from another thread because it looked to be a subject worth delving into and Lukky has such a eloquent way of putting things.
Gotta love his mind....as well as his body!
Do other single/soon to be single men OR women feel the same way? Are both sexes actually looking for the same things in a mate?

Well, I've avoided this in other threads so by way of procrastinating, first two notes:
2) The answer is surely different for everybody.
3) I don't think "ideal" is anything but a target.
Right.
In my case, an ideal mate is a strong-willed, self-confident, communicative, and intelligent female, with an appreciation for music, nature, and diversity. I need somebody who can - and does - stand up to me when they disagree, else I will never learn anything from them.
Balance is necessary to an ongoing relationship, if there is too much power in one person then the give-and-take which I thrive on will not be present. I am sure there are those who prefer to be worshipped and looked up to, I would prefer to be inspired, supported, and told when I am being an idiot or an ass.
Ideally, further:
my mate should be playful, sexual, and social, interested in listening to children, capable of enduring my most opinionated friends and peers, and it wouldn't hurt if she had a flair in the kitchen and/or with interior design, where my talents are adequate but lackluster.
