Okay so lets brian storm.

I am working on a thread about magic items in the modern word.

kind of like that miniseries The Lost Room?

Never saw it.

I'm not sure why I came up with the idea.

The concept features intelligent magic items. The back story has a war between good and evil or maybe man and nature, or some similar scenario. The items are the tools used in that war, and the personalities of the items are thoseof the warriors.

So the brain storming I need are who fought in the war, and why was there a war. After that I can look at the magic items, answering questions like: do they remember, what sort of comunication they can do, how powerful re they, etc.

hmm....the Magi, and the Roman Catholics? maybe an attempt to exterminate the Magi, who believed in magic?

Not a bad idea, but I was planing on magic being used by both sides. If the Roman Catholics are removing maic why would they have magic items?

Also their were three types of magi, if I am not messing up to bad. The alchemists, which used materials to make magic, astrologers which worked magic in a world of math and lures for cosmic forces, and... I can't remember the name but the third type operate on words; the underlying idea being "god said let there be light" an light comes into existence so if one could say the word god used for light hey could make light.

Jagged I am tempted to write the local family of millionares, who own several buildings world wide, and make 200,000 each year in stock alone. But unfortunetly they have no local businesses, and posses few skills other the runing their companies and managing stocks.

MMMM........yes being stuck with out anything useful can be interesting,but get old. If they had a skill set like engineering or something you could do it. There are working millionares though...own and work on fishing boats. Something like that perhaps.

I'm just brainstorming. At the moment I don't think I'll join.

How about some one really useful, say a WW2 vetran who was stranded alone for a year on the battlefeild and has all sorts of useful survivial knwledge but not the body to survive.

Or for that matter a hospital doctor that just retired but now can't.
