Contrasts are important, something being hot all the time isn't actually very sexy - at least in a longer story. Gotta cool things down sometimes, so they can heat up again.Looking back at this discussion, I am now appalled that we, erotica writers, have been tricked into brainstorming ideas how to make things less hot![]()
Fun fact: When you touch an object, the thing you're feeling isn't actually the temperature of that object, but the transfer of heat between it and your fingers. This is why different things seem different temperatures in the same environment. Metal transfers heat more quickly, and so will seem colder at room temperature than for instance wood. Conversely touching very hot wood quickly won't hurt as much as doing the same with metal, because of the slower heat transfer.
