The i dont hate my EX thread

I know i got this from another thread called i hate my ex but i dont..We get along just fine we help the other out when needed..It helps that we had a mutual divorce so there wasnt alot of bitterness we married young and grew apart..I am supposed to see my two boys every other weekend but spend almost everyday with them ..We still eat out together with the boys once in awhile ..We even had sex a few times for old times sake..We are both attached to someone now and we remain faithful to that person ..I even like her boyfriend and she likes my girlfriend.We get along better now than when we were married..Is this rare or are there others out there who get along with there ex

It's a shame more separated/divorced couples don't follow your example. It at least would be better for the kids not to mention the adults. Good for you!

Well, I'm not divorced yet, but I am seperated. We get along a lot better now than we did before. So long as I dont have to spend large quantities of time with him, I don't mind. We also go out to eat together with the kids for meals, and he often drives me ro places that I need to go, such as shopping, doctor appts, trips to the vet, ect. He's even coming over for Xmas with my family. My family still likes him. I like him a lot better now that I don't have to live with him. I think he still wants to get back together, but it's not gonna happen. Eventually,. he'll figure it all out. The kids know and accept that "Daddy doesn't live here anymore" and seem to have adapted well. So as far as a split family goes, I would thinkthey have it pretty good.

My former hubby and I don't really talk anymore, but we did get along a lot better after we split up than when we were together. He's still got a special place in my heart, we just grew apart and needed different things...
