OOC:
Selina McDaniels was Born to a tavern owner operator. He had married a woman that was
way above his station in life, but they had loved each other well. When Selina was born her
mother had died due to complications. She was a beautiful little girl. Ebony hair so black it
had blue highlights, with kerry blue eyes. She had pale white skin and always smiling or laughing as they played as children. Then when she was 14 her father decided to send her off to school, she hasn't been seen in the last 4 years not coming home at all for visits.

But now it is 4 years later and Selina's father's health is failing and she has been sent for.
When she arrives she finds her oldest friend still there living above the barn and working for her father along side his father.

Selinas father has arranged a marriage for Selina to the local Baron's son. But he is a womanizer and cheater. He has often been seen at the tavern molesting young women and it is said that he is even capable of rape.

Allen O'Hara was born to a poor but happy couple, until one day tragedy struck. While Allen was off playing with Selina McDaniel a fire broke out at his parents rented home. His father was working for Mr McDaniel. His mother died trying to save the livestock. Allen blamed himself for not being there to save his mother, even though he was barely sixteen. He vowed he would work with his father for as long as he lived and remain chaste the rest of his life in atonement for his sin of neglect. Shortly after the tragic event Selina was sent away to school. When she comes home four years later she and sees Allen, she will be surprised that even though he still has dark brown eyes, a willing smile and curly brown hair, he has grown from a skinny kid into a young man with broad shoulders, a strong back from hard work and a healthy vibrant body from simple living. Allen will be surprised also as Selina is even more bautiful than when she left. His father and he live in the barn on Mr McDaniels residence, as their home was destroyed by the fire.

Destiny and I will start this thread as the story centers around the two of us, but its also about a small Irish village and the relationships of the people who live there. Again, if you are interested in joining, please PM either of us first.

"Be quick now Laddie, times a'wastin' you know me daugther will be here soon, and mind you everything must be in order when she gets here."

Mr. McDaniels barked out orders as Allen lifted the last log and hammered it snuggly into place to complete the grandstand in front of the train station.

"Whats all this fuss about anyway?" he asked his father working along side of him. "It's only his daughter thats coming home, you'd think it was the queen of England for all the ruckus he's causing."

"Never you mind, Allen' his father replied. "Just do what yer told beside it's his only daughter and he should be proud and happy to have her home again after so many years. He needs her now too, you know since he's ailing."

"To be sure Pa I know that, it's just.."

"Enough his father said abruptly. "Beside I'd think you'd be happy to see her too. After all you two had been pals for all those years before she left."

"So whats so important about all that Pa. Shes just a skinny little girl I used to know. she probably wont even know me with her high fallutin' big city ways."

"You never know lad, she might just surprise us. I don't think she's the kind of girl to forget her friends." He looked at his son and smiled. "I think yer just jealous 'cause Mr. McDainels promised his daughter to the Barons son."

Allen threw down his hammer muttering about how folks can get so riled up over this grand homecoming, he had half mind to get his scattergun and go hunting while all this celebrating was going on. He didn't want to admit it not even to himself that he was anxious to see Selina again, in some ways he did miss her.

Selina McDaniels

The train pulled into the station a half hour late and she was nervous about being home again. She knew why her father had sent her away, she also knew why he was calling her back.

She fidgeted in her seat and sighed as she finally rose to her feet. She reached for her bag and it fell to the seat beside her with a thud. Her hair was up in a chignon with tendrils framing her face. A small amount of makeup had been added to her cheeks to brighten them a bit. She was not happy to be home and had hoped to be able to choose her own way in life, this was not to be the case.

She was dressed in a blue dress that showed off her trim 18 year old figure well. It was trimmed in ermine, the cool weather of the moors would be a bit ore bearable that way. after staying at the school all that time she had become used to the cold. It had been lonely there. No friends to laugh and play with. Just her work and her love of horses to get her through the last 4 years. She had not even been allowed to come home for vacations or breaks, her father often writing her to tell her it wasn't a good time.

Moving along the aisle toward the door to the exit of the train she lugged her bag along and continued to think of all the things she had missed her. Allen had been one, a small smile played along her lips as she thought of Allen, scrawny tall Allen who had often played with her in the moors and on the cliff tops. Scrawny Allen who had given her, her first kiss. Scrawny Allen who she had always had a crush on.....

The train was late as usual but it was good thing as much had to be done to prepare for this momentuous occasion. All the food had been prepared ahead of time but still there was needed time to set the park up for a party, the likes of most residents of this small town had never seen nor even heard of. The town had been buzzing for days in anticpation, much discussion being around the tons of food and gallons of beer that McDaniels was providing and even from the neighboring towns there was sure to be many coming if for no other reason than to just say they had been there. So there was a great crowd in the street when the train did finally come in and McDaniels ushered the band up on the stage to give his daughter a royal welcome home.

Allen stood in the background trying not to be conspicuous though it was hard being taller and more broadshouldered than most of his neighbors. He again was wondering why he was here. After all he and Selina could just as soon say their hellos and be done with it without hundreds of people gawking. Maybe it was like his pa had said he was jealous of the barons son, not wanting him to get to her ahead of him. Besides he felt it was important that she know about that scalaway before she let him get close and take advantage of her. Maybe he was just wanting to be like a big brother to her and protect her. At any rate he hung around waiting like the rest.

The train crawled to a stop and everyone craned their necks to get a look. "Just like a bunch of sheep." Allen scoffed. Mc Daniels raised his arm and signaled the band to play as the conductor stepped out and set the steps in place. Allen felt the push of the crowd and staggered to keep his balance. "This is just plain foolishness." He mumbled and then as he caught a glimps of Selina coming down the steps he gulped. Even from here, he could see how she'd changed how she'd become woman. He swallowed a lump in his throat and turned around tryng to hide behind a lamp post. No use,.. he turned and ran. "Oh lord she was beautiful." he thought. "Too beautiful for the likes of me."

The band was playing the crowd was cheering but Allen stumbled away and headed for the barn. "It's no use." he said under his breath. He had made his vow to God and he knew he could no longer think of Selina as a friend. The sight of her had stirred sinfull feelings and brought them to the surface, feeings Allen didn't understand and couldn't handle.

MOving down the steps she was curious as to all the people gathering for her. Why, she let her eyes scan the crowd. Where was he? She didn't see him, where was he? She didn't realize the man she saw walking away was her Allen. Then her father was tghere usheringher toward the carriage and welcoming his daughter home as if she were the most important person in the world to him.

She was depressed, Allen hadn't been there to greet her. Moving to sit on the carriage she looked into her Da's eyes and saw that he had changed indeed. He wasn't as robust as he once had been and she smiled and then they were at the tavern now. There stood the Baron and his son and she lifted her head holding it high as she was helped down from the carriage and was introduced to the man that was supposed ot be her husband. She felt his eyes rake over her body and the tongue that slid out and licked along his lips. A chill ran up her spine and she slowly withdrew her hand from his grip.

She didn't like him at all. Where was Allen? She smiled politely barely paying attention to those about her and she looked at he father,"may I please go to my room to freshen up?" Her Father nodded, "Of course me darin' come back dwn when you are full refreshed."

Selina walked into the almost empty tavern and darted toward the kitchen and then ran across the back yard to the barn with everyone up front they wouldn't notice her. She reached he barn and slipped in...."Allen?"

Allen

He heard her call, not knowing at first if he should answerHe still hadn't recovered from the shock of seeing how much she had changed. He cowered in a dark corner hoping she would go away.

She called again "Allen? are you here?" He knew it was no use to continue to hide from her, she had always been determined in her ways and obviously she had seen him go into the barn. He slipped out into the light, dusting his pants off, his head lowered.
"I saw you come on the train, Selina I wanted to greet you but there were so many people. I thought it best to wait. Besides I heard you were promised to the barons son, your father would run me and my father off, if he knew we were together.

His face fell. "You must go Selina this is not right for either of us." he looked into her eyes and his heart came to his throat,He wanted her to go yet he wanted her to stay ,he wanted to reach out and touch her yet he could not bring himself to do such a thing. It would only lead him to break his vow of chastity. He turned his back to her. "Go Selina, they will be lookin' for you soon enough. Maybe....."

But he couldn'tbe thinkin' of maybes he had to think of what was here and now.
