the hobbit: 5 word review

Meh, I don't know about that, it didn't seem overly long to me. The movie stays pretty quick paced, so the time passes quickly.

I did like the movie, it was enjoyable enough, though, it pushed the bounds of reality into Stupidville a few too many times for my tastes.

I liked it. It passed my "did I check the time?" test, wherein, if I check the time during a movie, it loses 1 star.

...out of an unknown scale. I guess you could call it 1 demerit, if you prefer.

NM: even as a LOTR fan, i felt a few scenes were longer than necessary.

Well, if they'd have cut all the parts that went to Stupidville, then the movie would have been a more normal 90 minutes in length. :D
Too true. When I heard it was going to be three movies instead of two I had to wonder what crap they were going to be adding.

The Hobbit

is going to be a three parter ...

Some directors don't know when to let go...
