Hope no one minds another question from me! I've only been playing here at Lit in one fashion or another for about 8 months. I find it to be a fabulous place to take a load off and do a little reading. I'm wondering if some of you who have been here longer would mind telling me a little of the history of the place. Who founded it? When? How fast did it grow? That kind of thing, as well as anything else that might be fun to know.

Hope this finds you well. I don't really having any interesting facts, but I found this info about Lit, so I am just going to cut and paste, oaky? I am not being snarky, I just don't want to re-write it in my own words!

Our History

Literotica.com started out as as idea we (Laurel & Manu) had one night. We both enjoy erotic fiction, and realized that even with the abundance of picture sites on the web, there was a shortage of quality story sites. We have always believed that the mind is the greatest sex organ, and that a well-told sexy tale can be more of a turn-on than the most explicit photo.

The more people we talked to, the more we believed that Literotica.com needed to exist. This site was created as a means to bring together those who enjoy reading original erotic fiction and those who like to write it. Users of Literotica.com are directly involved in its evolution. Through your submissions and suggestions, you determine the direction we take.

Our main goal is to turn your brain on. For us to be effective, your input is crucial. We encourage you to share your ideas with us so that we can create the most effective erotic literature site imaginable. The stories on Literotica are created by 1000's of different authors all over the world. If you can't find something suiting your taste, then create it and share it with the rest of your fellow Literoticans!. Most importantly, enjoy yourself, and don't be afraid to get involved.

Our Future

We have big plans for this site. In addition to building the largest library of 100% original erotic stories on the web, we plan to add additional areas and features to enhance your experience here. A few of our plans include publishing a print edition of some of the best stories and poems on the site (see the Literotica book), adding a personals section, having more contests with prizes for the winners, and letting users build their own home pages right here on our server.
