Attributed to a member of Bush's Administration talking about Carter's visit to Cuba...

"I don't like to see someone acting as a tourist whilst visiting a country where people are rotting in dungeons."

Hold on a minute, wasn't Bush himself a few months ago taking snapshots of the detainees at Guantanamo Bay?

It seems that Cuba is still avery convenient enemy for America...

and that pisses me off!!!! I love their cigars!!!!!!!

Their Bacardi's not bad either!

But that's the reason behind America's policy. She can't produce cigars or rum half as good as Cuba's so she calls the Cubans pinko commie bastards and puts up a trade embargo.

It didn't help though. The West Indies stepped in and grabbed the market!

:D

LOL

An unidentified someone utters something, and you pin it on Bush.

Are you sure you aren't the one that writes the inflamatory headlines that bear little resemblence to the actual story? :D

As long as Castro's in power, don't look for a change in policy. Bush is no better or worse than 8 of his predecessors in that respect.

BTW, Cuban cigars aren't as good as they used to be. Maybe when the cigar makers are no longer controled by the state? And as for the rum, I like the Barbados variety better anyway.

Ishmael

How do you know?

Or can it be that Ishmael is being unpatriotic by smoking cigars from a pinko commie bastard country with which trade with the US is banned?

Or did someone tell you (source unknown) that they're not so good nowadays...

And did you report that person to the authorities...

TRAITOR!

:p

Uh, p_p_, President Bush did not go to Cuba, he went to Gitmo. It’s an American base. You know Navy, Marines, Ships, Guns, the whiff of Freedom…

That's what I said bro...

"Hold on a minute, wasn't Bush himself a few months ago taking snapshots of the detainees at Guantanamo Bay? "

You've really gotta keep up to date.

That's twice now in three days you've let your side down...

:p

Talking of sides America plays mighty Holland today in one of their World Cup warm up matches. The heat's being applied slowly but surely...

:D

Let's don't quote yourself out of context. Your clear implication is that Bush was in Cuba too and thus a hypocrite when clearly you are distoring the facts merely to let your side down...

You'll have to try harder than that!

I'm sorry. Is Holland still a country?

It's only about the size of Atlanta...

No...no...no...not at gunpoint.

In those days the Brits forced everyone to get high on Opium, and when they were out of their tiny skulls we whisked this iddy biddy piece of paper under their noses, told them it was an inusrance policy and we got Hong Hong.

You know we Brits are a non-violent peace loving people.

Guns didn't come into it...

Corollary Question: Where is the American Embassy in London?

Follow up Coronary Question:  Where's Grosvenor Square in London?

Indeed! LOL.

But, lest you be accused of running away from the fray you provoked...

Come, on, give me the answer to the question that you know will make me right and you...

not as right...

:D

Just as with any other standard US military base or embassy Gitmo is on US soil, therefore it isn't in Cuba, therefore unless Bush stepped off of base land he wasn't in Cuba.:D
