I saw the original 'The Haunting' - great movie. The 1999 version was comical in comparison ... and isn't Claire Bloom a hottie? I didn't even know they had lesbians back in 1959. What I can't understand is how Theo actually became worse in the 1999 movie. I mean, Nell's telling her she's a freak of nature and thirty six years later I'm more insulted by the airhead bisexual.

On a related note, what is it about a black and white movie that makes the women look so much better? I'm not just talking about appearances, their personalities seemed stronger too. Maybe it's those dramatic highlights.

And when Siren get's mad and starts talking in all caps.. I can hear Ethel Merman belting out her words.
