I thought is was the best one yet. But some critics say it is nothing like the book. If that matters to you. The girl lead, can't spell her name, is getting tits and will be hot in a few years. Some people clapped at the end.

I have tickets for Monday at 15.40 CST. I can't wait to finally see it. I've heard that the director is playing a lot more loose with the text than in the previous movies. However, it sounds like he concentrated on keeping the suspense and mystery of the book. He stated that he cut pretty much everything that didn't directly relate to the rest of the plot.

Most folks are reviewing it favorably. I wanna see it so bad, but things are hectic.
And yeah, Hermione's a cutie.:D

I wish they would speak American. A few lines I missed.

I think Hermione and Ron are going to end up dating. I saw the movie today and noticed hints that they might

like when they were "killing" the bird she went for Rons shoulder instead of Harrys
or at the begininng she grabed his hand

Well I saw it with my daughter- a Potter fiend!- who reminded me throughout the movie about what had been cut out from the book. Yes for the devotees there's a good bit of filler from the book that gets dumped for plot purpouses in this one but overall it's pretty true to the basic premise of the book.

Emma Watson- Hermoine- is definatley getting boobs, and there's no doubt that if she stays on through the whole series of films she'll have her handsful with lecherous old men watching them just for her. (My daughter was also quick to point this out...lol!) I think she's going to be quite pretty by the next one.

Daniel Radcliffe- Harry- and Rupert Grint- Ron- have gotten to be quite cute themselves. Personally I think Harry is going to break hearts in about another 5 years.

Now as to the movie, I wouldn't have taken kids much younger then 8 or 9 to go see it. The dementors were quite frightening for an adult film, much less a childrens movie. Dementors aside, the dialogue and subject matter are getting more mature with every film. Alot of the younger kids in the theater we were in were confused by some of what was going on.
SPOILER
The time turner sequence in the end is going to be impossible to explain to a young child, and the scenes where Lupin turns into a werewolf and Sirius fights him to defend Harry had a few of the younger ones holding mom a bit more tightly.

Snape in drag was however quite Hilarious, and I cheered as loudly as 90% of the girls in the audience when Hermoine finally clocked Malfoy!
I was glad to see Harry finally getting to give the Dursleys a taste of what he's capable of too! Nice to see he's not a total doormat after all!
Overall I thought it was very well done. I'll be buying it for Christmas on DVD for certain!

Saw it yesterday and actually managed to be in a theatre with only about ten other people. The movie was great. I can't wait to buy this one on DVD. I just hope the movies keep doing as well.

It was the best of them all....saw it opening night.

I heard it was supposed to be frightening, as the kids get older, but it really wasn't.

Big ups for Gary Oldman being in it.

they got a new director for this movie and he leaned toward making it darker since the kids had grown up a bit.

I saw it and liked it, though there are many things in the book which are left out of the movie (and in my opinion makes things a bit murkier when trying to understand it all). I actually thought it wasn't as dark as the second one, but it did have a good deal of mystery and suspense. And I agree that Emma Watson (Hermione) is adorable! And the new Dumbledore was a good substitution.

Good movie! Will definately get it on DVD. I did note that the audience seems to have changed to more "kiddult", rather than kids. Which could explain a lot of the drop off in people watching. I don't expect it to do as well in the box office as the previous two.

Good observation FungiUg, I think you have something there about the demographics of the audience.

I liked the movie, I think the problem is that the book is 2 inches thick and the movie would have to be about an hour longer to accurately portray the book, so lots of slash and burn had to go on.

I think you have a new career as a movie critic, darling.

I just don't know if I can sit through a movie this long that is not showing in my own living room...

The Stepford Wives is like 93 mins. I can do that.

yes but they have done that with the other two as well. wait till the forth and the fifth make the big screen. rumor has it that the dursleys will be cut from the forth book and it will start at the world quidice match.

Okay, I broke down and saw it! And I loved it! Harry gets cuter the older he gets. And I love Alan Rickman!

Yes... it was good, indeed. ;-)

Awww! I was looking forward to seeing the ton-tongued toffees and the Weasley's panic in their sitting room.

This for those of you that think that Hermoine's boobs was the best thing in the movie.
(It's work safe so don't be afraid to watch it :))

I'm curious, have you read the books? Or are you basing this on the movies alone?

I think the link is somewhat visible in the fifth book but the movies are definitely trumping it up.

i just say the movie. i enjoyed it but the new director could have done a better job. too much moving of the story around somethings happened later that should have happened first. just ranting i did enjoy the movie over all.
