Greed and jealousy. It resides within every person, some more than others. It's what drives people in life- the desire to own what others have, and to possess more than what another might own. Sometimes, its revenge that drives them to their greed.... to take back what another has taken away.
In the ancient city of Graiden, greed rules over all. There are corrupt contables of the law, greedy families of high wealth... all living off the spoils they take form those lesser than themselves.
But Graiden is also home to an unspoken society. The Guild of Thieves.
Some people of Graiden see the Guild as nothing more than gutter trash, adding to the greed and bad name of the city... while others see the Guild's members as saviors that creep in night's shadows, reclaiming what had been lost.
The Guild of Thieves claims neither of these titles. They simply exist. Each member has its own reason for being there, whether it be for their own personal wealth, jealousy, or revenge. Some of them can be bought for the average man's greed- but for a high price. Feuds even begin within the Guild's walls, the members finding reasons to hate each other. Honor among theives seems to be something losing face in the Guild...

Other ideas? PM me and we'll see.
((Basically, I was a big fan of Autolycus from the Xena and Hercules shows. This is loosely based off of his character, if you wanted to know where I was going with this..))
