This is an open thread which I will visit daily to check for updates. This thread will also be used to admit new characters into the Guardian thread. Please post your thoughts and character ideas or questions here as well.

so its an open rp. what kind of setting is it. id like to join but need a little info before making up a character.

The setting is split evenly into two realms.

Highlace is a medieval, high fantasy realm where it's not uncommon to see Pixies, Dragons, Trolls, Elves and Demons. Your typical Dungeons and Dragons type setting.

The realm is a wellspring of magical energy channeled by those sensitive to it called the 'fae'.

The Good Fae (also called "The Light") is used by Guardians (paladin-like soldiers, and the police and law enforcement of Highlace) to weave enchanted barriers around vulnerable cities, heal wounds for soldiers hurt in battle, give visions of possible futures, and also battle the dark forces in Highlace.

The Dark fae (also known as "The Dark") is used by the Black Hand, (necromancer and wizard-type soldiers who want to rule highlace) to spread disease and panic, drain the life of the innocent, kill crops, poison water, and battle the light forces in Highlace.

There is also Earth, modern day as you and I see it. Highlace is linked to Earth via the "Nexus Gate" that only very skilled magicians can use via Runestones. Only some guardians and members of the Black Hand can make and use Runestones, making travel to and from both realms difficult and dangerous, and VERY expensive.

The Guardians and The Black Hand have been viciously fighting over supremacy in Highlace for centuries, and have recently began taking the battle to new ground on Earth, where technology, easy wealth and a much more vast population makes it easier for them to develop new weaponry.

However, with the Guardiands now spread thinner by their introduction to Earth, The Black Hand plans on moving hard and fast on Highlace, hopefully securing it's right as master of the realm.

Ok heres my character concept.

Raven stood just over 6' tall with dark crimson eyes and long black hair. his face face was nearly flawless marked only by a large scar on his left cheek. he kept his body in top physical condition and was quite proud of his physique. he frequently showed it off with his favorite out fit of a dark blue leather vest and black slacks. his feet were kept in black leather combat boots. He had seem many things over his life time and had had a hand in many dark deeds, his frequent street fights earned him a reputation as a skilled combatant. his half Demon blood was evident by the slight crimson tint to his tanned skin. His mother had nicknamed him her little " Demon of Crimson mist" and the name stuck with him through the years. in recent years he has found work as a bouncer at a trendy night club putting his fighting skill and Dark past to good use earning him a decent living.


what do you think i can work on it a little more if you'd like

what do you think i can work on it a little more if you'd like

Well, the character concept sounds okay. You might want to explain how your character actually got to earth in the first place. Since he's of Highlacian decent, you might also explain what his childhood was like, and how his mother actually got involved with a demon.

Also, how do you plan on using him in the story?

well his mother was a gifted mystic and attracted to the darker magics and while fooling around with a summoning spell called Ravens father down to earth where he seduced her and bedded her giving himself a son in the process. Ravens Child hood was spent on earth with his mother during the time of the first Crusades and once he was old enough joined them and fought along side some of the worlds most skilled swords men. At the age of 42 he realised that his body had not changed since he had reached the age of twenty. a few days after this realisation he met his father and learned the secret of his blood line and why his mother had given him his nick name. He has tried to remain neutral through the years and stay out of the war between the Light and the Dark although he dose have a tendency to lean favor twards the Dark.

All right, sounds good! So again, let me ask. How do you plan on using him in the story?

Also, have you read through The Guardian Saga already?

I read most of it and in the process of reading the rest now. he could be used as a source of information by both sides in the war between the light and the dark as well as a sword for hire if the price is right of course. the club he works at could be located on neutral ground as well
