Everyone has different ideas about this. But, it's a cliche that is used over and over, "the greatest love story ever told." Many have said this about Tolstoy's Anna Karenina.

What do you think is the greatest love story ever told, whether it is in book form or something you have seen in a play or film?

What was it about the love that made it stand out in your mind?

I think it's interesting to see what portions of a love affair people find significant.

I'm not really sure that I could answer my own question. I do think the story told about CS Lewis' love in the play and then movie Shadowlands is quite beautiful.

Dark Rivers of the Heart - Dean Koontz

I'd love to put my fav in but I always get told its depressing.

I don't know if it is the greatest, but I love the movie "Made In Heaven". The thought that you can fall in love in Heaven and then find that same person years later on Earth blows me away. The fact that you carry the idea of the one you love always in your heart and mind and that will lead you to them...blows me away.

I'm still holding out for the greatest.

What Dreams May Come tears me up every time.

Yes that is a good one.

Any version of Romeo and Juliet does it for me too.

The guy who played Mercutio did the best job.

Oh i actually liked that one. Mainly because of its originality but also because of Clair Danes. I have liked her since My So Called Life was on.

Take it back. Quick. Oh yeah, and learn to spell. Please.

okso juliet is wrong but decraprio is right. And dont assume typo's are misspellings because they're not.

Cast another vote for What Dreams May Come.

That he would go to Hell and stay with her, incredible.

ditto

although the best real life love story has got to be Ben Affleck and J-Lo.

the danes/dicaprio shakespeare had fast-paced music and faster editing, it brought some intensity to the story that most stage productions lack.

For another story, how about Fried Green Tomatoes? Unconventional in modern terms in a lot of ways but I still consider that a love story, and a beautiful one.

Do you play diablo2?

actually diablo(1) was probably the inspiration for my cat's name...that, and the fact she's a little devil. I haven't bought diablo2 however...diablo(1) was addictive enough and I'm afraid I'd never study.
