Wait, what? The Dems had 193 last congress. They're at 195 so far with seven recounts going on. And in four of those the Dem is winning.

Three million GOP voters stayed home, if they'd have voted all of the soul searching about what to do about the Republican Party, single women, Latinos, bigger tent, more welfare, immigration, ad nauseam...would be moot.

So the enthusiasm gap was... all just hot air? Kind of like how you said Obama was going to lose a significant chunk of the black vote and then he didn't. Or how women were trending to Romney and then they voted for Obama by a very large margin?

Reid didn't get his 60 votes so he's getting ready to alter the rules on the filibuster so that Republicans can't use it. He already prevents them from offering amendments, so we already have a deliberative one sided body for all practical purposes.

He's stated for the record his intention to do away with the "motion to commit", which puts an automatic 3 or 4 day stay on legislation at the request of a single Senator.

The minority party still has the ability to fillibuster, but if they want to do so they have to "put some skin in the game"...they have to convene the full Senate to actually debate the bill then and there, and then have an actual vote.

Real representative democracy, the kind that Republicans hate!

Turns out he could. Blacks made up 12.75% of the electorate the past two elections, up from about 11%. If they were at 11% this year Obama would have still won.

My Constitutional knowledge in this area is a little fuzzy. Can you tell me where I can find filibusters in the Constitution? Because all I'm seeing are things about how a majority vote passes bills.
