The girl next door
Carl smiled as he watched the Jones drive off. He had been waiting a long time for this. Their daughter had recently turned 18, and Carl knew she had been warned to stay away from him. They had been close once, Stan, Debbie and he, but that had been before the incident, and since then Stan couldn't look his way without turning beet red.
He had been watching the girl for quite awhile now. Nothing too weird, just keeping an eye on her, watching he grow into a quite a beauty, just like her mother. He found himself going to all the football and basketball games, watching her cheer her friends on. More than once there had been an electric shock when their eyes had met. Many a time he had seen her walk by his house, and hesitate by the gate. He knew that tonight there would be no hesitation, that tonight she would come up to the door. He turned back to the TV, and sipped at his beer, waiting.
