Sean Blake trudged into his house after an exhausting day at work. His house. Two words he had never thought would be associated with him, not in this day and age and certainly not with the way he didn't seem to make enough money. But it seemed he was one of those people the universe had taken some sort of pity on.
But of course, he had to lose his parents in the process. Because of course the universe HAD to exact some sort of cost.
At any rate, Sean's parents had left him their fully paid-off house, and their 2015 Toyota Camry. What's more, his uncle had recently been promoted to a position in a big game developer, one where he could directly influence hiring decisions. Which led to Sean being able to finally realize his dream job of making video games. But it was still tiring work, and he felt the emptiness of his house every time he returned to it.
At least there was a rather attractive woman who had recently moved in across the street. He'd even offered to help her with whatever she needed, but between her partner (female by the looks of things) and the folks that had helped her move in as well as the more technical aspects that he could have done more to aid with, he wasn't exactly brimming with optimism that they would speak much. Which had become a popular refrain for the 25-year-old, it seemed.
Regardless, he picked himself up off the couch, changed into sweats and a T-shirt, and ensconced himself in his bedroom, getting lost in a video game, but keeping the curtains gapped in case that girl or her partner came home.
