We are all writers, but some of us feel that we write much better in a specific genre. So list your favorite genres, maybe if you choose to, throw in a link to a thread in that genre as an example.

Or if you haven't had the oppurtunity to write a thread within that specific genre list the genres you'd want to write in.

Ummm.... Steampunk.

But honestly, anything that doesn't hinder me with something as pesky as reality.

Science Fiction, Fantasy, all that. My mind is too big for anything less. :)

Well, I'm very comfortable doing BDSM themed material, either Dom sub or switch. Given that much of my work falls into one of those categories it shouldn't be too hard to find if you'd like to look it up.

The Guardian with Kaena, fantasy setting but BDSM centralized. It's been more or less abandoned at this point, but I feel we got through most of the story, only a few things I'd like to have done before it reached a natural conclusion.

Damaged Goods with Ladythunder. Pretty straight BDSM, on hold because of RW issues but I definitely enjoyed writing this one.

I was a little surprised to find that I'm rather comfortable doing supernatural stuff, to one extent or another. My first thread here on Lit had me playing a devil, it felt rather unnervingly natural. As evidence:

Bodyguard Lover and Friend with Gaia's Child, fantasy setting and Gaia created a perfectly vivid world for us to play around in.

Your Wish is My Command with Wolf Vixen, I get to play a smart ass Djinn, his personality closely mirrors aspects of my own so it's quite fun to crawl into Agrael's head.

Fangs and Cuffs with AngelofDeath, Vampire thread, and rather heavily plot driven, one I'm enjoying writing a great deal.

I only had the opportunity once to write a sci-fi thread that I thought was just enough over the top that I could get away with some rather over the top stuff as well, sadly I don't have the link.

Dog Star 1 a group thread, ended far too soon in my opinion. I rather enjoyed writing a bloodlusted demonic Rottweiler.

I'd like to try writing with pre-existing characters some time. Normally I'm not a big fan of fanfic type stuff, but I haven't tried it before and under the right circumstances I'd be willing to try. Especially after seeing some of the incredible talent that is willing to jump into an existing character and be totally true to it while also adding their own twists.

Edit: I found a few threads I was looking for to link :)

Most of the stories I have finished are erotic and either bdsm or incest. I have many story ideas for other gener's like mystery romance sci-fi, human interest, and others. I never now where a story is going it just goes.

I enjoy fantasy most, Elves, Drow, that sort of thing. When I really like the subject matter and scenario, the writing comes easier because I forget that it's writing and it just becomes fun instead.

I think of myself as a role player first, who just happens to accomplish that through writing. I try not to take myself too seriously as a supposed artiste. Writing is just a means of expression, not my 'art' or 'craft'. I don't get paid to do it. If I do it, its because I enjoy it. If that ever ceases to be the case, then I won't do it anymore. I never want to have to say to any of my partners, "I owe you a post." Nor do I want to hear it from them. I also don't want to have to worry about the length of my posts (usually not a problem for me anyhow). I write as much as I need to to cover what I have to say about the scene or about my character. When it becomes a sense of obligation, it takes the fun away.

I enjoy anything Romance oriented along with fantasy. Sensual and passionate, sometimes sappy. I know it sounds strange but I'm a hopeless romantic.....

For SRP's I presume? Well for me I guess it probably matches what I tend to read, so SciFi, Cyberpunk followed by Gothic Horror and Horror. I have a D/s interest so that appeals too. Oh, Deities, Gods and Ancient Civilisations, the idea of naughty gods or demons works. Did I mention historical period drama, eg Victorian or '20s. And of course theres combos. Throw in Scifi with Victoriana and you have League of Gentleman style steampunk. Gee this is now sounding more like a wish list. Anyway, I prefer a pretty detailed story around bouts of intense action in whatever I write though, it gives the mind a chance to change pace . . . pure teasing works better in other formats. ;)

Genres I enjoy include crime, BDSM or D/s, historical, fantasy "historical" settings (for want of a better description), realism, urban, rural - particuarly frontier type setting, war, sci-fi (in limited circumstances - (ie. I like it once I dont have to come up with a whole load of ideas!) and adventure.

I am most comfortable in a contemporary or historical setting - anything Sci Fi I find a challenge. As regards fantasy stuff, I tend to avoid it. I dont mind a fantasy time setting, but once fairies and the like start pracing about, I lose interest!! And as for anything furry.... UGH, no thanks!

Historical fiction:
I really like this genre because I can throw in a whole lot of my own ideas about ancient history, while keeping to the general concensus of the timeline.
Fight for life, or love - Gladiator style RP that sadly seems to have died because of my writing partner's new job.

Television based fantasy:
I find it very easy to relate myself to certain characters in a tv-show, or a particular type of scenario.
The Ginger Sisters' Carnival - Group thread based on Season 5 of Heroes
and
Wolven Hearts - Probably my most favorite thread I've had. Animes and other (less RL) fantasy series are often a big inspiration source for me.
