I'm here to address the elephant in the room. You guys wish you could talk about politics on the GB. Just fucking admit it. You want to create random threads that, while not really relevant to politics, are still political in nature. You want to have a good time with your friends without having to go to a sub forum. There is so much more Drama to be had.

Evidently we all missed a one-day drama over there last September. When JustJenocideJeff announced that he had a G-d given "right" to accuse posters here of being pedophiles, regardless of what the TOS here said (shades of Ishmael!), I used the search option to look for Lauren's admonition that these accusations were no longer tolerated here.

Search found a one-day uproar on a General Board picture thread, someone posted a series of provocative photos of a 14 year old completely nude girl. "You can't post that here! That's kiddie porn!" The poster, who had just registered that day, was adamant that he could. "There's no sex going on, she's just naked, and most importantly, it's not MY daughter, this has been posted ON THE INTERNET before!!".

Banhammering and post removal occurred in record time, it was difficult to piece together what actually happened.
So no thanks, I've got no interest in the General Board any longer.

I am a relative newcomer to LIt. Especially in light of some of our grey beards around here. I always see references to how the GB is a free for all dysfunctional cesspool. I haven’t found that to be the case at all. It seems rather tame compared to this joint…

I think it was a brilliant move to create the PB forum. It's not perfect, but it helps to isolate a lot of the Deplorable and other toxicity away from the rest of Lit.

It is tame. I was genuinely shocked at the current GB compared to how it was before I took a break. A lot of the people that post here used to post there all the time til politics got banned on the GB. There was still a Politics Board but nobody posted here with the frequency you see here now. Funny that.

People are still free to visit any forum they want. The PB isn't any less visible than the GB. Politics qualify as a general topic. Threads that have absolutely nothing to do with politics are getting created here. GB 2.0.

There were a wide variety of topics although politics did tend to dominate the discussions.

That was interesting news. I had no idea people did that here. I go between this board and the coffee shop, so I've not wandered off to the others. Are they of any value? Like the truth in these posts?
