I believe that the General Board might be a personals site in disguise.

An unusual one, but a personals site nonetheless.

I say this after a few months of reading about the divorce/adultery dramas, couples, secret couples, internet deaths, post-death meetings, accounts of liasons, phone sex, cyber sex, etc etc etc.

Interestingly, if someone posts a "personals" ad here.....they are shooed to Personals.

If someone gets too flowery and ga-ga....they are shooed to The Playground.

So, is the General Board really a Personals site for the cynical and attached?

Well, there are some woman here whose method of flirting seems to be arguing with a man about politics . . .

The thing I like about the GB is you can post any kind of damn thread you want. Flirting and fluff are always popular, of course, and there is a high level of drama and histrionics, too. Some people, like me, come here mainly for political discussions and debates. Dillinger is off on cloud nine with his quasi-mystical stuff. And so on.

I look at the Playground every now and then, and it's kinda nice in a way, but I soon find the excessive saccharine a bit cloying . . .

Quite possibly you're right Lance, but the threads containing dramas, couplings of various sorts, cyber and phone sex are interspersed with drivel that makes no sense, political threads and attention seeking, self promotional threads. Is it a personals site or a site for personal expression?
