I'm curious what the stats are on Gay voters.

How much weight do they pull?
Would their families vote for a Gay Friendly Canadaite?
Has Gay marragie come up in open voteing? Or do upper levels deside for us all?

In my state the voters have voted to move the state captial over and over again. Yet there it sits in Juneau still, tho I was like 13 when the frist vote came through YES.

Does anyone know?

I think one of the problems gay voters have is finding sympathetic political candidates to vote for. This problem may make the strength of the gay voting block practically irrelevant.

Whether we want to accept it or not, America is still uncomfortable with the gay agenda. Few candidates of either of the two major parties will publicly and sincerely support gay issues because they seem to conflict with the feelings of most of their other constituents. Of course we have those who say one thing to get elected and then change their stance once in office. The old bait-and-switch.

Independent candidates or candidates from other parties simply have a tougher time getting elected. If they are elected, they still may have a tough time forming the political coalitions and alliances that will force a pro-gay bill through a legislature.

I'm not gay, just very interested and involved in the political process. This is just my view of the situation facing gay voters.
