My wife and I went down to the local motorcycle dealership to pick up a couple of things. Nothing major or expensive. (Okay I'll be honest, I really wanted to go down there and check out some of the bikes.)
As we were walking out we stopped to talk with a guy coming in. He had just signed the paperwork on a brand new Goldwing and the store crew had wheeled it around front for him. He was going inside to get the keys. Well one thing led to another and we stood there by the door chatting. As we were doing so here came the truck to change out the Trash Dumpster for the dealership. (No not empty but change it out. Their dumpster is one of the monsters that hook up to a crusher.) As the truck came into the lot the driver was going a bit fast and had to cut it a bit hard. As he did so we watched as the empty dumpster on the truck tipped up and seemed to pause.
We watched and waited while holding our breaths. Slowly the dumpster continued tipping until finally it just fell with an incredible crash.
Right on top of the Goldwing.
We're talking the bike was just gone, you couldn't see it. It was under that dumpster and the dumpster was resting almost flat.
We hung around as the trash company came in and lifted the dumpster off the bike. We're talking the bike was crushed, a complete loss.
No one was injured and thankfully the dealership and the trash company will be replacing the bike for the guy.
It was funny to watch though.
