The French are the only reason that the US achieved independence from Great Britain

You couldn't beat THE FRENCH???

:nana: :nana: :nana:

When was the last time they out-flanked ANYONE?

Maginot Lne? No.

Dien Bien Phu? No.

UN Security Council? No.

Damn...

:D

I think Austerlitz.

And that was because of a Corsican.

Now hold up there! Didn't I read somewhere that they won a big soccer match in the last few years? The first thing they won since they lost Waterloo and that Corsican bloke was taken off them!

Try this!

Go to Google; type in "French military victories"; now hit the 'I'm feeling lucky' button. Interesting, methinks!

I may be wrong, but I don't think they outflanked ANYONE at Austerlitz. They repeatedly charged across the bridge into the enemy's cannons and then broke the rules of war and attacked when the enemy disengaged at quitting time as per European military union rules and settled in for evening tea...

And you are right, left to their own, the French would have surrendered at the first taste o' the grape. Napolean proved that when he turned the cannon on the citizens of Paris. He knew what the mob would respect moreso than any true Frenchy...

No--they really outflanked their opponents q.v. the high ground in the center of the battlefield. They faked a retreat, to draw them out of position, and all that.

But, as I said, it's because of the Corsican.

I'll take your word on it because I'm too lazy to walk over to the shelf and actually crack my book on Napolean...

;) ;) :D

Dude, stop saying that name. Refer to the "Corsican" to constantly remind the peeps that he is not truly French; that he was born in a territory acquired by France literally a few months prior to his birth.

I mean, lets not forget that the truly native-born French emperor was Napoleon III--and his prowess in war was clearly shown in the Franco-Prussian war. Which looked kinda like one of those gangbang-pic threads I'm sure Ginny has made ;)
