My name is Jaded1 and I am a addicted fisherman...

Now I know that there has to be other people (man and women) that enjoy the relaxing sport of fishing.

The purpose of this thread is to have a place to tell your story about the one that got away... and to meet other people that enjoy your sport...

Hell, you may even scare up a new fishing buddy or two!

It is for the hardcore experts and the first times. Everyone is welcome and there are no dumb questions unless of course if I'm asking them...

This thread does not belong to me it belongs to all of you. I just stood up and asked the question...

Remember fishing season is just around the corner and I have a servere case of cabin fever...

Hey there jaded, the boat is about ready to be in the water here, and, we stocked up on fishing gear. All we need is some warm weather and bait.

There's a little bait shop near here, named (XXX) where you can get what's biting, and the bait, along with a tide table.

So, we've got 3.0 hooks, ready to go!

Well, I've already gone through all my rods and reels. Cleaned them and re lubed them. Even rewound all new line on the spools. I love bass fishing on some of the small lazy ponds and steams here in Connecticut and can't wait for the 2004 season...

Yep, done some deep sea blue fish'n off of block island. Caught three at the same time (passing threw a school) on a umbrella rig. Those three fish kicked my ass... I also enjoy big water fish'n from the shore. Nothin like standing in the cool surf hold a big rod...

Oh, since newbie here, bought a new shakespeare combo. It's kinda neat, I've been playing with it in the back yard.

Well, my friend most of my rods are Shakespear Ugly Sticks... Just seem to like the action and I haven't broken one yet... I've had a couple of bass tangle themselves up on the bottom and always managed to pull them off the bottom.

Well, the spring Chinook (King) salmon run is in full swing here in NW Oregon--took the boat out this morning and caught an 18 pounder that I kept, plus released two other larger fish, 32 and 28 pounds. Why did I release them?? Regulations here specify that you can only keep adipose fin-clipped (hatchery-bred) fish and all wild stock must be released unharmed.

I've caught seven since the run began in earnest on the Willamette River--smallest was 14 pounds and the "hog" was 37 pounds!

Biggest ones that didn't get away. 6 pound small mouth, 8 pound 2 ounce largemouth.

Well, were in the midst of a snow storm and the rivers and lakes finally thawed out in the last week or two. GOD, I can't wait to wet a line... Thanks for the report I'm sitting here with a smile on my face...

I love bass fish of all the fishing I do... I just started fishing again last year as apart of reclaming my personal life.

I did catch and release a few big mouth in the 5 lb range. Looking forward to the day I get to try a bass tournament... But ya got learn to walk before ya can run... Beside I just love to be out on the water!
