The first sign of breast cancer might not be a lump

To all you sexxxy ladies and sexxxy gents do you give yourself a monthly self boob check?

Or if you're a couple give it a go. Be well. :rose:

Place a pillow under your right shoulder and your right arm behind your head. Using your left hand, move the pads of your fingers around your right breast gently in small circular motions covering the entire breast area and armpit. Use light, medium, and firm pressure. Squeeze the nipple; check for discharge and lumps.

One of the biggest regrets of my life occurred about ten years ago when a male friend of mine told me he had breast cancer.

I made fun of him....I had no idea whatsoever that a man could have breast cancer! I've apologized to him profusely since then, but I have a hard time forgiving myself for such an uninformed callous remark.

How about an alt cessation as a sacrificial redeeming move?

n.b. Peace is priceless.

Zo that's why you follow me around and say I had fake cancer? What a hypocrite douche. :)

I've never used an alt in my life, despite Queerbait's continued insistence that I must be using alts because he does.

I've begged Laurel to install the Vbulletin multiple account detector add-in. It keeps track of the individual userids that have logged in from a particular computer (with a provision for "roommates" override).

This simple add-on would effectively end little Queerbait's vendetta against me.

Well, I want to continue this discussion and I'm hoping that this won't degenerate into our usual reciprocal fuckwittery and accusations, Rob.

The vBulletin sounds like an excellent idea to me.
Of course people could log in from various places or internet cafes, but it would put a cap to some of the alt making, no matter who's behind them.

But I wonder if someone with expertize in computers would be able to get around it
LTR or some other poster would be able to clarify that aspect

.

First of all, I am terrible about following my own advice about Mammograms, but I do get them.

Those annual screenings can save your life and the girls will forgive you for allowing them to be squished.

It's always the right time for a reminder to do self screenings. Men get breast cancer, too. Early detection makes a huge difference.

Sometime between 2003 and 2007 I had a female patient age 33. When I started to take her blood pressure using her left arm, she told me I couldn't do that. The only reason you can not take blood pressure in an arm is the arm is amputated, there is a shunt in the forearm for dialysis or if the person has had a mastectomy. I said to her, "Breast cancer survivor." She said yes, of 12 years. I asked if she found it. She said no, her boyfriend found it while she was getting dressed. It was a spot on the side of her breast. She told me that neither her doctor or nurse encouraged her to do her monthly self exams and since there was no family history of breast cancer she decided she did not need to do it.

After this encounter I started telling her story in hopes of getting all the female patients to do the monthly self exam. One of my patients, a mother of a 11 year old and a 8 year old said not only does she do her monthly exam but she taught both of her daughters to do it as there is a family history of breast cancer. She also said her 11 year old discovered a lump. She immediately took her daughter to the Pedi who did a stat mammogram. The results were positive. The girl was sent to a children's oncologist who did a lumpectomy. The mass was a quarter size.

I talked to a Pedi about this. She said that both boys and girls were going through puberty at about age 8 now. She said she had seen young boys with testicular lumps and displaying breast development similar to girls. She said a study was being done to see if there was a link to the early puberty and the growth hormones being given to our cattle, poultry and hogs.

I do check myself often as my mother had her left breast removed from cancer at the age of 52. I'm 58 and always vigilant about that.

I do not mean this as a joke....it's the God's honest truth. I freaked out many years ago when I felt several lumps in both breasts and rushed to my doctor.

...She examined me and told me not to worry....they were only my ribs.

I'm glad they are okay.

But lumpectomy? Don't they have a more scientific name for it? :)
