i can't even begin to imagine the stress being placed on kids in school today and they're still expected to do well. When will the USA reach that tipping point where enough students, enough parents, are personally affected that it makes a difference in how they vote regarding guns?

I've said before the first group of kids who have lived through this, are now of voting age, I give it two more election cycles before a serious push comes along about the 2A. Which is why I keep trying to get the gun nuts here to realise the status quote is not going to last much longer.

Either they get with the times, or they might just lose that "right" and end up like me. A gun owner, who has to spend a lot of time and resources with the anti gun groups to stop them from trying to out right ban ALL firearms because Canadians don't have any "gun rights". Owning one (or more) is a privilege, just like driving a car.

In the mid 60s we routinely had multiple riot cars sitting outside during the school day. We also had an armed city officer assigned to the school, with his own office.

This was before most cities had riot squads and SWAT teams and before almost any schools had armed officers inside.
