The First are as old as time itself. Some think there is a higher power that created them, but not all take this theory seriously. The home world of the First is called Elysia and no mortal can come to their world without their help.

The story so far...
The First was always united as a signle pantheon... That was until 3.5 million years ago.

Altwaal, the king of all the First, was targeted for assassination one day. His lover, however, was hit instead and killed. Breaking every law and taboo of the First, he brought her back to life.

For the next few thousand years, a civil war was fought between those First who thought Altwaal should pay for his crimes and those who thought Altwaal did the right thing to save an innocent from an assassin's deadly trade. After many had died, Altwaal finally step in and ended the civil war.

No matter which side of the civil war they were on, Altwaal divided the countless First to those who were selfish and those who are selfless. The selfish became known as House Sinister and the selfless called themselves House Dexter. He then divided Elysia with a rift of time and space that he called the Solus Rift, so members can't cross to the other side without some loss of power. Altwaal then disappeared, with many believing he died while making the Solus Rift.

Now the First are restless. Talk of a new war is on everyone's lips. The time for talking will soon be at an end. Will the First go to war with each other? Or will a even bigger threat bring them together?

Roles
The First - Gods and goddesses. They are divided into one of two houses:

House Sinister are the selfish First. They do things for their own personal reasons. They tend to be malevolent towards the worlds they control.

House Dexter are selfless First. Their motives normally put others before themselves. They are mostly benevolent towards those who worship them.

(Note: being in House Sinister does not make you evil nor does being in House Dexter make you a good guy, the thing you have to ask yourself is if your character is selfish or selfless)

Underling - Mortals empowered by the First. They only have as much power as the gods allow them to have.

Mortals - Normal people.

There is not a stated number of First. You can join or disappear as you please. I have left a lot of room for you to develop your character as you see fit. You are allowed to expand your history as much as you want.

Threads
Since this is a universal setting, you can start as many threads as you want. However to keep things connected, put "The First:" before the title of your thread. All OOC talk and sign-up is done here. Related threads can also be started in the Sexual Role Playing forum.

Dragon's Fang
I will play the role of narrator. To fulfill that role, I will try to keep the story going as best I can without interfearing with your character or it's development. If things start to get boring, I may create a problem or introduce a NPC which can then be taken over by someone else later on.

Count Me In...

Name: BigGator5
AKA: "Gator" or "The Gator God"
House: Sinister
World: Kontiltan
Weapon: Battle-Axe
Powers: Water Elemental. Can shape-shift to his "Were-Reptile" form to double his powers.
Personalty: The very defination of someone who is in House Sinister. Selfish, power driven, and prone to passion (wheater it is lust or rage). However he is benevolent towards those who worship him.
History: Not much is known about him until after the great civil war. Since then, he has raised in the ranks of House Sinister and become a huge power broker. The Gator God now has his eyes set on the prize of leadership of House Sinister...

I am interested and if I may make a suggestion. Try and keep the threads to an OOC and an IC, more then that would just likely scatter the players. (But in general I've held that view in most forums, but lit in particular.)

I am thinking I will join house sinister with a god of justice, who was kicked out for doing the just thing and asking the former king to pay for his crimes.

Noted.

Oh, I like the idea of your character. However just because you wanted Altwaal to pay for his crimes, does not automatically place you in House Sinister. If you wanted to bring him to justice for selfless reasons, then you should be in House Dexter. If you wanted justice only for its own end, then House Sinister is right for you.

I will start the IC thread tomorrow. We need more players.

I think cats is looking at a possibility that Altwaal isn't perfect, thus he banished the God of Justice into House Sinister because the God of Justice tried to bring Altwaal to justice.

I think a god of justice in House Sinister sounds like it would be better than a god of justice in House Dexter.

If he wants to be in House Sinister, who am I to say no? I am just the narrator.

Tell me Infalk, will you be joining us?

Id like to play :), Goddess of Dreams...not sure of my house yet :)

The way I figured is he wished to stop the civil war and put one side of the war in house sinister and the other side in house dexter. Otherwise whats the point if dividing the gods keeps it where war can happen.

Nice!

Again, whatever House you ended up in is your choice.

No it isn't my choice it was the god who condemed him there, which granted I get to choose.

If no one has objections, I will set myself up as one of House Sinister's council.

Kalika84, cats, if you want to join me on the council, we could vie for the leadership of House Sinister. ;)

Name: Yantha
House: Sinister
Gender: male
Height: slightly above average.
Eyes: Silver and often kept closed and behind a blindfold.
Hair: Long black falls to the small of his back.
Clothing: He wears a gray tunic with silver trim.

Portfolio: Justice, patience, and karma. (Karma being action)

Powers: While blind his senses extend far beyond most first and have skill in picking up whats hidden. His gaze can paralyze all but the most willful of the unjust.

Yantha is related by marriage to Altwaal, and brother to the slain. It was he that took vengeance on the assassin that stroke down Altwaal's beloved. Yantha's mind is often conflicted with both sides of any action but it was not after Altwaal's actions, he broke the most sacred of laws and the reaction was clear. Truth be told Yantha wished he had revived his sister instead of Altwaal, after which Yantha could be punished and no war would of taken place and perhaps more importantly his sister would not be alone.

Really guys, let's try to drag this out for as long as possible. I mean, I'm in no rush.

No I suppose you wouldn't rush. I personally am surprised you and Kalika didn't wait for dragon to say how many rebels there are. In general we are taking some liberties here.

Alright before I continue I would like to talk about boundaries unless this becomes a farce.

This story definitely has potential but at the moment we kind of have a back story war going on and that is a bad thing. We are all out trumping each other at the moment basically.

I am actually happy gator decided to make this a ploy for personal but then it goes awry from there. Yantha makes it back sooner then expected so an ice wall appears and an assassin teleports out when one can't teleport in, I am fine there. Mystara then knocks out a council member, I would of placed a time limit there since it is a council member and thus a roughly equal god. Then Gator states the building picks the new leader and no council member is needed, why the heck was it previously stated as a vote then? From here I could have Yantha pull out a crystal and explain its the buildings decision maker and it can't pick one with out it, but lets face it that sucks as a story.

Python is a loyal character (and should have actions posted by gator Hint!) so I declared him immune to my characters strongest power which was easy to justify. Now Yantha is supposedly able to break the ice in ten minutes why then can it freeze what has to be one of the strongest gods on the council for 100 years?

So the key here is respect, this isn't a contest it is a collaborative book. If gator becomes leader the story progresses if he doesn't the story progresses. As long as the story moves every one has a time to shine provided the story doesn't go to hell.

 I thought my last comment posted... Sorry.

Anyway, I am just trying to keep this going without it ending too quickly. We all know the outcome, because I suggested it.

Have Yantha perry Python's attack with all your might and I'll give you an opening... literally.

Well I would like you to control Python but my above point is about godmoding and how it escalates. I don't want to be involved in a story if that is going to be an issue.

I'm not pissed or anything like that, but it really annoys me when I see that sort of thing happening.

Nope just reptiles dreams and justice.

And just for a heads up purpose all current players are in house sinister, so that would be the location for action I supose.

Name: Allanon.
House: Sinister.
Gender: Male.
Height: Above average.
Eyes: Golden during the night and black in the day.
Hair: Golden shoulder length hair.
Clothing: Black armor with golden trim around the edges of the armor.
Weapons: Two scimitars and two curved daggers.
Powers: Fire, the ability to harness and wield it and the ability to twist people's emotions and drive them to battle.

Personality: Ruthless beyind all reckoning, he is only biding his time for the moment while he begins to slowly fuel the flames of war once more.

During the house wars, he was worshipped by many on both sides of the conflict, mainly by those warriors who were fighting just to fight. Since the war however, he hasn't been noticed much as he is once more trying to fuel the fires of war.
