I know I am. I first read the books, and all the other Tolkien books I could find, when I was perhaps 8 or 9 years old. Since then, I think I've read LotR a dozen times. It's become almost like an old friend I visit over and over again. There's something good in it for me every time I read it.
I'm watching the Sci-Fi channel one-hour documentary on the first movie "Fellowship of the Ring". Let me jsut say that, from what I've seen thus far, Peter Jackson, the Director, has things reall well in hand. The look is amazing, the effect spectacular (though not enough to overpower the story). In many ways, he's a traditionalist with Middle Earth - the languages, the feels of places like Hobbiton and Lotholorien and Moria. The actors and actresses seem like great choices, even if they made a few people scratch their heads when they were announced.
In all, I'm even more jazzed about seeing than I've been since I first heard it was coming out. Who's with me! Geeks unite!
