American's have decided the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton dynasty ain't gonna happen; for whatever reason, you name it.

I watched. not avidly, I admit, all twenty debates this political season, between all candidates, R & D, just to keep abreast.

It appears it is to be a McCain/Obama contest in November, from what the pundits say. It could be an Obama/Clinton ticket; I doubt that.

Huckabee is hanging around in case the elder McCain suffers a stroke or a cardiac event in the final stretch; a possibility indeed.

But the VP nominee of either remains a mystery....

The Dems seem to think that Obama is the new Messiah, regardless of being a black Muslim far left winger, the most left in the US Senate; the best qualified to take the White House.

I doubt that.

I think the American voter will remain silent in the polls and then give the Repubs 49 States and both the House and the Senate in November.

We shall see, shall we not?

You know, I expect Ami to be Ami. But get your facts straight, even if your opinion is wildly different than mine.
BarackObama.com said:
"But above all his accomplishments and experiences, he is most proud and grateful for his family. His wife, Michelle, and his two daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, live on Chicago's South Side where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ."

C'mon, Amicus, you're smarter than that. He's not a Muslim just because of his name.

Don't be mouthing swift boat style bullshit.

You gotta point there, Belegon, indeed you have.

However, politics is more perception than fact and I suspect you know that as well as I do.

But his heritage is Muslim and that will be front and center, and he is Black, and that will also be front and center in a general election.

I doubt the campaign will ever come down to left versus right insofar as issues are concerned and McCain will not tarnish himself, surrogates will and , ahem, the media as well.

There is always a method to my perceived madness, Bel, not that you ever doubted that...

grins...

You know he's a human - and his heritage religious and otherwise is mixed....just like most of us here in the states.... Muslim is a convenient Hot target Word for a different book of dogma, and I find it distressing that religion is being used to villify anyone not of anglo saxon descent...

Personally I dont like ANY of the candidates... but he seems the most - representative of what this country is about....

That said - I vote for Wilbur... Because you certainly arent going to see a Pagan High Priestess stepping into the oval office this century.

Ami, I'm afraid you are over confidant. McCain wins, the Reps get the Senate back and the House gets much closer.
