The GB is stagnant. Moving political threads has cut the number of threads in half. Some likely appreciate that. Nothing much has filled the void. I propose we recruit some prolific posters from elsewhere, even playgrounders. I would think just to piss off Eyer, a fair contingint of poaters here would support that. So who do you think would be a good addition?

It would not be a good GB thread without snark potential so who do you want to send back to the minors?

I'd like to see Stella and MidWestYankee. I notice that the latter has been posting in the How To, so maybe he might be a free-agent. From the PG, we have seen more of Honey and RickyChampaigne. Perhaps they can bring some of their cohorts. Ihateclowns and LustreMunky start a lot of threads, maybe they can be persuaded to throw some pitches here. BradBigBrain because we do not have a surfeit of that. Jett 73, but I might have that backwards. MissGreekGreek steps out on us a LOT but she always comes back, she could easily encourage some chicks to come with her if we lowered the prices on drinks for ladies night...

I would nominate myself to go back to How To and the wordplay threads of the BDSM forum, but the word count of the GB would drop precipitously.

There are a cadre of playgrounders such as yourself and OneSickBastard that are really relief pitching staff help. You play for whichever team needs you at the moment. Need a category for those. I would suggest loyalty oaths and non-competition clauses, but I am pretty certain we would not win the tug-a-war over talent. The pay is not very good here, the benefits worse.

I'm not sure I could go back to my original forum as my main forum. It's a lovely place, but so slow moving.

I'd pull up Miles Long and Emerson40 from the HT; they've been showing their faces, already, of course. Eilan would be a welcome addition to the gee bee.

I am biased because it was the How To that initially brought me from being mostly a lurker. I say bring them all. BailaDora for sure as well.

I had a similar experience. I started my 'Oh yeah, see how you like it when I shit on the floor in your house!" thread in the PG, and it got moved to the GB.

I would have to agree with that characterization.

I have noticed it comes in waves. Usually because "their' forum is slow, and the GB happens to have a thread or two that are not that GB-riffic.

The question then, I think, is how is the attractants for quality additions best fostered?

I don't know the history of who came when and why, but I tend to think some of the cross-over people lead strays in. I have seen some fun exchanges in the PG and even AmPics with MissGreek. I am surprised none of them have followed her over.

One of the oddest things I noticed during the "should we move politics" debate was the second audio channel effect of the GFY and Co. picture threads. Lurkers in those threads would surprise you sometimes. I hesitate to engage in those threads because it feels like interrupting someone when they have settled into the recliner with this months copy of Juggs Magazine. Maybe I will start interjecting there, just for giggles.
