The road just kept zooming along him as he pushed 95 miles an hour in his Mustang. James had left New York just a few days prior to head to Seattle, to find a new home. He left behind him almost everything, his home, his job, his friends, and most importantly, his girlfriend, Shannon. He had grown tired of the same life, like a robot in society, and he longed for something new. This was to be it.
It was now 1:26 in the morning and his eyes grew tired. He had been somewhat daydreaming about the last time he and Shannon had made love. Nearly 4 months ago, they had both had a few too many drinks at the bar and came home to his place. It was an intense night...but it was the last they would ever have. They had a loving relationship, but lacked the eroticism that could keep him interested. James was the type that had thousands of ideas and fantasies, but never once found a girl who wanted to act them out with him.
As his thoughts trailed, he pulled into a truck stop to get some food and find a map. It was late and the truck stop was almost vacant. Just a few scruffy truck drivers and three women sitting at different ends of the restaurant. He sat down and ordered a burger. This was going to be yet another long sleepless night.
