Hello there!

When you submit a new thread, there is the option to "close" to story... To make it "The End", in other words...

I was just wondering... Anybody ever closed a story? Especially a story that wasn't their own?

Curiosity killed the cat, I know, but I'm human, so... :)

I once closed a thread on "Population Crisis". On that occasion, I had observed another thread which had closed undr somewhat similar circumstances, and there were so many open threads I knew closing just one out of the multitude wouldn't matter. I think that if you bring a thread to a satisfactory conclusion, you should go ahead and close it. It's not like there aren't more options to pick and more threads to follow. Also, sometimes it's fun to create a deliberately "wrong" choice that leads to disaster.

Of course, if it's a linear story with only one option at each thread, then only the editor should close it.

I wouldn't mind if people submitted closures to threads on my stories, if they felt it worked. Hey, no one says the editor is bound to accept it!

I hope some stories never "end". I could think of five women in Sappho's Amulet alone who I'd like to play with forever, let alone basically all the female characters in Jack Takes Control.

Someone ended the story in a thread in one of my stories, A Party to Remember. The circumstances seemed right, it wasn't until I read the whole story from the begining that I realised how quickly the end of the story came. Fortunately other threads took off to compensate for the short one.

Really? Which ones from Sappho's Amulet, if I may ask? I generally base their appearance on pornstars or Penthouse centerfolds, and could probably tell you who the "real" people are that I based them on, if they're my characters.

I've opened up a new story which (I hope) will have some reasonable plot-related places to wind it up:

Get Me To The Church On Time

Perhaps the wedding night or the morning after(-math).

Maybe it depends on the premise of your story (vs. ones which are "the continuing adventures of...")
